Any Fortis/Bren 10 news from SHOT?

The first run of Bren Tens will be faithful reproductions of the original.
Vltor stated at 2009 SHOT that the next runs will be enhanced and will differ in some areas than the originals and may be offered in additional calibers.

Bad news fellas... The Gunsite raven will not appear on the new pistol's frame. Inside sources relay that quality & performance is questionable. My advice is to steer clear of these... Unfortunately Vltor even turned off the comment section of its weblog on the subject: fortispistol.com

I'm told It's going to be three or four more months before production guns see daylight.

Well, they did say they'd stay faithful to the original :)

Personally, I'll wait till they are actually released before passing judgement based on internet rumors from "inside sources". Just saying.

Hmmm...

So far my bet of buying a used S&W 1006 rather than waiting for the "perfet" 10mm to show up is paying off....

However even after the new Bren Ten hit the shelves I will let te guinea pigs taking a chance....and after a year or two...maybe....

saturno v, I might just be your guinea pig.

I just pre-ordered and paid for a pair of them today. Expect delivery end of May. Wanted to get in that special first production run of 1200 pistols.

Just to add a comment.

Over the past week I have talked to the management at the distributor of these pistols regarding my purchase. Since they are not quite up to 100% on their information I sent them an email requesting clarification on a number of things.

Their customer service attitude is outstanding. The email went out Sunday, and by that evening (yes, Sunday!) I had a phone call from one of the principles in the company that fully explained the situation, answered all my questions, informed me of some future offerings (Black Hills special 10mm loadings for the Bren??) and a lot of background information. They did a follow up call the next day to make sure the changes in my order had been made (changed one selection from a pistol not being produced until next year to one that will be delivered quicker.). I will now wait until later in the year or early next year to order the special forces model in 10mm, only offerings this year are in .45acp (<400 total). But got a Standard and a Vice inbound.

Those guys are great.

Crockett at his "therapist's" office. Thanks for the "inspirational" pics, Legion3. ;)

Here's a couple more to off-set the pessimism in this thread.
