The .223 at in house ranges pales in comparsion as to stopping power at that range period. I'm not an expert but listen closely to those that are and I know not a single one that would argue that. As far as being able to do alot of things under a survival situation then many would go to the AR or a rifle but for CQB shotgun is king hands down period. They (leo trainers, top schools and trainers) teach alot of double taps and such with AR's for CQB not with the shotgun and that tells you alot.
What experts say that? If the shotgun is king, hands down, period for CQB, how come the shotgun has been relegated to use for breaching and less lethal munitions with virtually everyone in the business?
Modern CQB means fairly precise shooting. The rifle is king of CQB. Many police departments that still use shotguns in patrol cars are limiting them to slug only.
