So because I consider myself free to associate with whom I choose I am worthless?

I work six days a week at a statistically dangerous job, take no welfare, impinge on the rights of no one and let others go in peace to live their lives as they wish.

I never call for more taxes or regulations, I don't desire that the authorities go after people I don't like.

I'll never tell you how to live, or what you must do, yet I am worthless?

I interact with people, all people, on a voluntary basis seeking mutual gain. I make no demands, I use no coercion or force or fraud.

Wow - didn't take long for the cries of racism to start, did it? We (by "we" I mean those of us in Southern California who want to protect Americans form the scourge that is ilegal immigration) refer to "Mexicans" because here in SoKal 80% of illegal immigrants are Mexican. That doesn't mean their nationality is what we have against them.

Stop all the racism bullsh**, and all the accusations of "anti-immigrants" too. My wife, who is Brazilian, and about one-quarter black, would be surprised to hear that I am racist and anti-immigrant. The problem is with the drain they (the ILLEGAL immigrants) create on our economy.

Here2Learn has a good point in stating that if we could eliminate the welfare state the problem would pretty much cease to exist. In the meantime, let's at least eliminate that part of it.

"Papers, please." So which is it? Do we want to live in a police state where the authorities can demand your papers to make sure you are "legal." Or not?

As I understand it, all the (undercover) agents do is strike up conversations with the illegals and lead them to admit that they are illegal immigrants. Then it's cuff 'em and stuff 'em time.

If that is not the case, and they are actually demanding ID, then I suppose I don't even need to point out the implications of that, do I?

Every job with a paycheck requires a W-2. A W-2 requires a SSN or TIN. Simply allow the IRS to run the number through the computers to ensure that it matches the name given. If it doesn't, the person can at least be arrested for falsifying tax documents or something of that nature. And let the IRS share the data with the BP and the INS.

So we all get our "number of the beast" checked? Sounds fun.

Look, what RepubilicMan and I are trying to get you to realize is that it is wrong to hire illegal aliens - as it is both unlawful and immoral.

You *thoroughly* missed the point of RepublicMan's post where he said:

No, the point is this: by hiring illegal aliens (and you said that you would do if it meant that you could have bigger profits) you are paying them less per hour than you would by hiring workers of legal status. This allows you to lower the price that you charge for your service or goods so that it undercuts the prices of those who operate similar companies with integrity by only hiring lawful workers.

This consequently forces down wages and forces the law-abiding owner/operator out of business.

There is also the practice of non-payment of payroll taxes and insurance that follows the hiring of illegals.

Now, you say that you *currently* do not employ illegal aliens. OK.

But you *did* say: "They have not swept my town yet. And I wish they would stay away. A certain percentage of my custmer base is composed of migrants amongst whom must be some illegals. Therefore if there is some sort of sweep I could end up losing money."

So lawbreakers are OK as long as you profit? Wonderful attitude.

We do agree on the issue of eliminating welfare to illegal aliens.
