Border Patrol told to stand down in Arizona

I'm no longer a member of the "Lesser of Two Evils" club. Although I voted for Bush in 2000, I didn't in 2004. His first proposed illegal alien amnesty program was the straw that broke the camel's back for me. I voted libertarian and let my State Reps. know why and by God, they're paying attention.

I also dropped out of the "lesser of two evils" club. I realized that voting for the "lesser of two evils" is still voting FOR evil.

I will agree that having somebody that is "good to vote for" would be great. Maybe someday we can get somebody that is good to run but not yet.
For those that feel it is not good to vote for the "lesser of two evil" I am wondering; Who will you vote for? One of the parties that is going to lose for sure? Not vote?
I have held my nose for all the elections since Reagan and voted Republican.

Sadly, I expect it would take an 'undocumented' Muslim extremist coming over the southern border and blowing up a Wal-Mart before our betters in the .gov will say the hell with the Hispanic vote and start shutting down the border.

I am pretty angry about illegal immigration, but I'm not surprised Bush is failing to do anything about it. He has been very consistent his entire political career about opening the border up more. He really believes it. He's not going to change his mind. I don't know whether it's just that he and his business buddies like the cheap labor, or whether Bush has some sort of "free flow of labor" idea derived from free market economics. But it's clearly part of his core beliefs, and nothing's going to change that.

I also think our political system is headed for a crackup over this. When both parties refuse to address an issue, either a third party is going to come along or there's going to be chaos. You wind up with a large, frustrated, angry element in your population obsessed with an issue which the political system is unwilling to even consider. I would put "bring the boys home" or traditional isolationist thinking in the same category. There are lots and lots of isolationists in this country, but both parties are globalist.

Another Citizen-Led Charge

The Minuteman Project worked. Brilliantly--it got the issue on the national stage, and this story demonstrates just how scared the government is of being shown up. It's time to push further.

Some time ago, I suggested that illegals need to be arrested by the local cops, bussed to DC, and released on the Capitol steps. I stand behind that statement.

It has to be an official program--if you and I do it, it's kidnapping, and as soon as we cross state lines (which we'd probably do on our way from Arizona to DC), it becomes a federal offense. Let the states do it, though, and it'll create a firestorm for all branches of the Federal government.

Twenty buses, each carrying 50 people, would release a thousand illegals on the Capitol, or the Mall, or outside the White House, in such a massive fashion as to be impossible to ignore. When choosing which thousand to send, give priority to the violent offenders, thieves, and the like--it's important to make the payload as offensive as possible. For best results, time the release to coincide with Congress getting out of session. Nothing like five hundred legislators walking out to be greeted by a thousand thugs just outside the door.

It's time to call your state government and demand that they hold the Feds' feet to the fire. As long as Congress and the President aren't personally and directly affected, they're just not going to care. Affect them--drastically, if possible--and you'll see some changes.

tyme got it first. Treason laws are still on the books, aren't they? Or did they get scratched out and the pages they were on get re-used to print out the details of a new social program?

Our government doesn't seem to know what government is for.

The person(s) responsible for this order need to be identified and tried for treason.

We are all dying of thirst and trickle-down treason seems to be the brew of the day.

All of this has the makings of Greek tragedy: a great stinking wound going all the way to the throne. Of course tragedy on that level is traumatic for the body politic. Hard to accept, hard to deal with.
