I just had a great experience that I feel ought to be shared:
A few months ago I purchased a PT1911 from Bear Mountain Sports in Mesa, AZ. As some of you know (and have been kind enough to help me with) I've had a few problems with it that required the gun to be sent in for warranty. As I was getting ready to send it off to Taurus today I decided on a whim to call up the store and see if they had any advice or if they could ship it themselves (they've always treated me right so I like to do my business there if possible).
When I called they asked if I bought it from them in the store, or if I ordered it from their website. When I answered I purchased it from the website they told me to bring it down, since they guarantee their sales. The man behind the counter looked at it, made a phone call to confirm they sold it, then said, "A new one will be shipped this afternoon and will be here tomorrow. We'll give you a call and you can pick it up then."
It would be real easy for them to take the "we're just distributer, contact the manufacturer" approach, but instead they are taking it back and giving me a brand new gun instead! I've bought three hand guns from them in the past (great prices!), but this event has sealed the deal of making me a loyal customer.
If anyone is in the Phoenix metro area I strongly encourage you to check them out, they treat their customers right!
