Man, the first time I shot my 50 BMG, I didn't even feel the recoil, so I took the muzzle brake off and I still think it feels like a .22. If you think it kicks too much you are a pansy and if you don't believe me you are retarded.

"Ah, you don't want to shoot them with a <.22/.25/30 carbine>, they might notice and get mad."

Sure, let's get out back and test that out - you first.

When I shoot my 50 BMG all i feel is the vibration of the controller in my hand. No recoil at all.

Taurus or any other firearm in the sub seven hundred dollar price range is too saturday night specialish for my collection.

"It's Mil-spec" ...so it must be the best thing going.

105 posts and no mention of boating accidents....

"30-06 sucks"
It's been awhile since I've heard it but I've heard it plenty.
Others:
".243 win is too light for mule deer and too big for coyotes"
"30-30 win is inadequate for anything"

"Needless to say...................."

Why is something that is needless to say always then said?

about ''interchangability'' of 30-06 and 7.62 x 54R ''You can fit ours in theirs, but not theirs in ours'' an oldie but a goodie.Usually all you need to do to shut these guys up is put one of each round on the kitchen table. The guys that say this can't even tell you which is which.

Here's one I'm really tired of. I'll get flamed, but bring it on.

"A .243 or .30-30 is plenty for elk and moose. After all, Bell killed 937659375956382 elephants with a 7x57 mauser."

(Okay. I embelished a little. lol)
(Not saying that .243 or .30-30 is useless by the way. Just tired of the Bell thing)

"I made a perfect shot but the bullet broke up on impact." Sure it did.

"9mm is a popgun round."

"The 1911 is not a reliable platform."

"Who makes the best gun for _______" (Fill in the blank)

It sure didn't look loaded.

.357 mag is WAY more powerful than a 44 mag.

AK-47 is more powerful than SKS.

.308 is bigger than 7.62 NATO.

A 12 Gauge will blow up anything.

"Tactical"

Hell, that's ok. I was gonna pawn it anyway.

She didn't look like no cop.

I'll make you a deal.

I do have to say though, the only one so far that I disagree with is knockdown power. I fully agree that dead is dead. And that no bullet is good for you. And that I wouldn't want to be shot by ANYthing.

But, at least in my experience with shooting living creatures, there are some things that most certainly stop or cease movement (hence stopping power or knock down) much faster or efficiently than others.

Don't buy that new Taurus sitting in the gun store. Just look around and buy a nice used smith and wesson model 66. I'm really sick of this one. In almost 5 years of looking locally, I've seen 3. All were in terrible shape. Somewhere, ther must be a gun store that's just full of used Pythons, Model 66s, and Model 29-2s, but I sure can't find it.

"It works perfectly with high quality brass cased ammunition."

TRANSLATION:

"It has choked on various brass cased practice fodder and won't eat steel cased ammo at all."

"People who use magnums on whitetails are crazy. They ruin too much meat."

The worst case of meat destruction I've ever seen was with a .223, and I've cleaned a lot of deer. Some of them were with various magnums. It's bullet construction, and shot placement, not caliber.
