CHL and Drinking

I would think there should be some lesson learned from how much attention Cheney's "one beer at lunch" received. The motivation is to fry your ass, not buy into some reasonable argument why alcohol is not a factor.

This quote just screamed out for me to coment on it. First of all it is intellectually dishonest to draw an analogy between the Cheney accident and someone with a beer or two using their legally owned and licensed CCW to DEFEND THIER LIFE. In Cheney's case he was engaging in an leisurly outdoor activity and, of course, the other person is DEFENDING THEIR LIFE. If the anti crowd is trying "to fry your ass" that means you were sucessful at DEFENDING YOUR LIFE. The alternative would be NO GUN and END UP DEAD. I would rather HAVE MY GUN AND LIVE to face the anti crowd than NOT HAVE MY GUN AND DIE.

More important in Cheney's case HE'S THE EFFING VICE PRESIDENT TO A PRESIDENT HATED BY THE MEDIA!!!!

Too intellectually elevated apparently.

But you won't get another chance when you lose your RKBA. Now you can drink all you want to. It is irresponsible to drink while packing, and someone may call you on it when there is a question about a shooting.

Blanket black and white statements such as you're making simply aren't true. Many things can affect your judgement. Depression, pain pills, sleeping pills, a bad day at the office, so forth. Is it irresponsible to carry when these factors are present?
Some of y'all make it sound like only a Morman Missionary should carry.
Luckily, the adult beverage-imbibing Founders saw it differently.;)

Biker

Alcoholics shouldn't carry. If you can't pass up the drinking, you are an alcoholic.

p.s. I am referring to alcoholics who still drink. Since I carry and am an alcoholic dry for almost 20 years, I guess I should not disqualify myself. Those who fight this idea are just protecting their addiction. Carrying means no drinking, period. Get used to it.

Some of my Proverbs

Why bother with it Biker?? The fight with the "what is is" sheeple is unending. Let them live day to day confined with their ideology. These are the people who own guns, never questioning authority, fearing the man in suit.

I take it the degree is mightier than the gun. Paper covers steel, unless it's scissors, then scissors cuts paper. The suit, tie, shined shoes, and black robe cover all. Stupid .. ain't it!

One filthy suit is better than a dozen clean bullets.

The majority of modern prohibitionists are hypocrites and just don't know any better.

Point Dexter's pen is mightier than the Joe Average's justified shot, no matter how straight and/or sober, crooked and/or non-sober <- "non-sober" to be PC.

I hear alot of "don't give the antis any reason to b*tch" but by doing that we are in a sense doing their job for them because we are doing what the anti crowd want to do in the first place. We are self-regulating our own rights. How about we extend this concept of alcohol consumption limiting our RKBA to other rights as well. How about limiting someones right to free speech, abortion, religion, etc. if the person has had "a drink or two."

When I read the Constitution I see "X right shall not be infringed" NOT "X right when excercised responsibly such as when not not having consumed a drop of the evil demon juice alcohol shall not be infringed".

The Rights enumerated in the constitutions are not contengient on someone adhearing to some ideal model of behavior. In fact the Constitution was intended to do the direct opposite it was meant to prohibit some governing body from determining when one's rights can and can not be excersized.

Ever drink enough to get a buzz? I have.

Ever have something really scary happen while you were buzzed? I have.

Don't know about the rest of you, but it caused the IMMEDIATE end of my buzz. The alcohol had no chance against the adrenaline.

'Course I probably shouldn't shoot someone if I'm all hopped up on adrenaline. ;)

Drinking and Carrying?

Hey guys and gals, how about a poll? You libs like the sound of that!!
And, while we are on the subject, what would Matt Dillion do? He spent alot of time at Miss Kitty's bar. Of coarse there was always that coffee pot on the stove too. Someone set up a poll.

I'll have a shiner bock while I'm waiting.

Cheers!!!
