I'm sorry to hear that. Damn, one vote?
Yes, the greatest quote from the whole debate is from one Senator Brophy (R) {attributed, wait for confirmation}

"I will not comply with this, I will get in my Prius and drive to {Cabela's in Nebraska} and violate this law civilly, the only question is whether I will need a carpool or a caravan for those who {intend to do the same}."

Does this mean Magpul is gone?

Look, in horror, upon the spread of civilian disarmament. Every county that went blue is part of the plague... it has taken root in our southwestern quarter and invades by the coasts. May our children forgive us.

So my decision has been made, I will not be living in CO. come the 2014 elections but I hope CO. residents let these politicians have it big time. I will be pulling for you - great state... too bad tree huggers are turning it into San Francisco.

CmdrSlander - does this map have a source? I would like to have a closer look at it. I'd like to check out the counties in GA.

This is terrible. You peeps in Colorado exact your vengeance on election day. There needs to be some out of work politicians in your fine state.

Yes, the Atlantic Magazine is the source, unfortunately I cannot find an image bigger than that.

Come to Kansas, seriously, your best bet is to get as deep into the heartland as possible and with no tourism/resort culture to attract anti-gun voters and no immigration to speak of (legal immigration is fine but immigrants tend to vote for disarmament, so avoid states they permeate if you value the 2A) Kansas will be among the last to fall. I advise you to visit http://www.opkansas.org/ and really consider the community.

What exactly does that map above represent?

edit:Election map....duh, brain fart. I was looking at my county on there thinking, I haven't been disarmed yet.

What a terribly disappointing outcome. The effort to stop these gun controls bills is the most politically active that I have ever been, and it seems it was all for nothing. It doesn't really give me a lot of faith in our political process when elected officials ignore overwhelming public opposition to bad policies that deprive people of liberty. I don't intend to give up, but it is nonetheless extremely demoralizing. For me, the high points of the debate today were Senator Brophy stating that he would not comply with this law & Senator Hill's eloquent defense of the Second Amendment.

Make no mistake, they were being guided by Washington DC and Bloomberg. The intent of this is very clear, get a moderate western state with a pro gun past to turn and hold it up as an example that "the majority of Americans agree on this!" and in a few years, when, simply as a result of the law of averages, there haven't been any more mass killings in Co. they can say "see, these laws work, there hasn't been a single mass shooting!"

Time to start thinking of primary opponents for anyone from a safe district and general opponents for anyone for a tossup. Can we start a superPAC for those outside the state to spend money in Colorado races?

These are bad laws, and hopefully they will be struck down in the courts just like Bloombergs idiotic soda size stuff.

1224 still has to go back to the house, but it will probably pass there and the gov will sign all this crap.

It will instantly turn just about ever gun owner into a criminal, and it will give power to LE to harass every legal gun owner.

BTW, absolutely none of either bill is enforceable...

I noticed the election map shows the blue areas of the Dakotas and Montana as Indian Reservations. Part of Obama's FSA?

People who are highly dependent on government support tend to vote for more support, so yes.

Though characterizing those who are given welfare as a monolithic mass of takers is ill-advised.

Lock them up while on Vacation?

The new transfer law is a boon to burglars.

There is no logical or legal way to have guns off premises if you go on vacation.
Can't take them to a buddy's safe. Using an FFL costs too much and would trigger an investigation on three or more handguns being returned.

You can lend a gun to a fisherman, but not your hiking, floating, horsebacking, ATV, bicycleing, or cross country ski buddy.

Gay partners didn't get included.
