I'm buying Federal exclusively with not a single issue.

I contacted their product service rep, Sheryl, who infomed me that they could not give me a FULL refund OR a cupon for a whole new box because I had already shot some of the ammo. When I reminded her of how dangerous ammo like this is, she did not express any concern regarding my safety. I told her I might have to warn other shooters on the internet then, she relied, "You do what you have to do."

Here ya go Winchester. I have always been a loyal winchester fan ever since I shot my grandpa's Model 12 for the first time at 10 years old. I always bought Winchester for their quality. After decades of buying their products from shotguns to cleaning products to ammo, I'm DONE!!! Their products are now all imported selling out American's jobs and their customer service is ran by incompetent bozos. Here ya go Sheryl. You just keep that $19.50.

I don't understand the problem. My reloads all look like that.

Strange, I have had only one experience with defective Winchester ammo, it was a case of 12ga. AA shotshells. They paid the freight for the partial case that I had remaining and sent me a full refund.

I gave up on Winchester awhile ago. Poor QC and they just plain don't care, not even for the premium defensive rounds. I have personally had three bad rounds of premium defensive Winchester JHP...contacted Winchester with photos...nothing.

Screw Winchester and their crap

Wow was that 7 of 100 (7%) defective? That is a whole bunch to say the least. While Winchester "White Box" is not the higher end stuff the quality should be much better. While their customer service sucked based on what you mention I would still pack what you have and send it to them with an annotation as to how my phone call went.

Like some newbie at the factory scooped out of the reject pile.

Or the last press went wonky, they discovered it but didn't purge all in the suspect lot.

REALLY TERRIBLE CS IF THEY WON'T SHOOT YOU A NEW BOX!!

Any automated machinery can go wacko until it starts running right. QC should have caught that. I've seen several big boxes of trashed factory ammo that were bought for salvage only. I pulled down 100 pounds of .223 for bullets and cases. Unknown powder was scraped.

I've been seeing pictures of defective WWB since the first usenet groups and then later the first gun forums started on the internet. Seen every other brand as well. Always check your ammo before loading.

Even though I get "warned" about the quality of factory remanufactured ammo, I think I'll continue taking my chances if the step up would be a step down.

Well, WWB isn't a step "up" lol. If you step up to factory new, get something good.

And you can get something good without spending a penny more than what WWB costs. Less, in fact.

I reload a lot of ammo, and I buy a lot of ammo. The only problems I have ever had with factory ammo was from Winchester. Cheap 12 gauge shells that wouldn't eject, and split case necks on unfired 7.62x54R. I didn't pursue any recourse with the shot shells as I knew it was a common problem. On the x54R they sent me a return label and a coupon. They didn't act like they were the least bit concerned about it though. Since then, I have avoided Winchester for the most part.

What the real shame is, is that I have fired thousands of rounds of cheap steel cased Russian ammo and never had the first problem.

I'm all ears. Where do you find better quality factory new ammo for less than .19/round?

Winchester must like lawsuits

this is dangerous, and I'm disappointed with the company's cs.

Let's start with the premise of your question.

Where do you find WWB for 0.19/round? Current. Total acquisition price including shipping or sales tax.

^^ Going off of OP, who says Olin should "keep their $9.50." But I have to assume he either meant 19.50, or meant 9.50/50 (and hence the .19/round I referenced).

My last case of brass TMJ for training came from the lowest factory reman available on www.ammoseek.com, at .188/round shipped.

I don't know where WWB is $9.50/50. Even at Walmart it's about $25/100 right now...online isn't really any better

I wouldn't pay $9.50/50 for WWB even if I could though

Just picked up Blazer Brass 124 grain for 9.50/box (0.19/round) a couple weeks ago from Wideners. After shipping was closer to $0.21/round.

Moral of the story: shop around its out there occasionally. Buy by the case when the price is good.

As far as WWB goes, I've had great luck with everything they make except the 9mm bulk boxes. Still love them for their .380 and .45.

Elano -

That sounds like a really bad experience...and I can't blame you for being really put out with whoever you spoke with at Winchester.

However, before writing them off I thought I'd pass this link to you. I used it recently to get help with a bad batch of primers and the people I dealt with bent over backward to make sure everything was handled to my satisfaction.

Give this link a try...I think you might have better luck. It might take them a little while to get to you...but I think it could be worth it.

.21 a round is about the best you can do for good factory brass 9mm right now.

My pick of the litter, presently, is $220/1k shipped (.22 per round total cost) Speer Lawman 115gr

or $226/1k shipped for 124gr PPU

If you want high quality ammunition that you can depend on you MUST load your own because the factories just don't care any more. It's bad enough they produce, package and sell junk like this - and then won't even give you a refund on it. This kind of stuff has been going on for quite a few years now but it has obviously reached the point where these people need to find new jobs. Imagine if you were a U.S. soldier and you ripped open a box of ammo and found this? :what: I have seen Winchester factory ammo with primers inserted sideways and backwards, no powder in the case and even cases with no flash hole punched in them.

Its pretty bad that they had so many defective rounds in one box, or even in a case, though I'm not sure how dangerous it is. You couldn't even get them in the chamber to try to fire them.

FWIW, I've shot several thousand rounds of WWB 9mm with zero problems or defective rounds. Maybe they went to pot recently.

And yes, you should post the lot number of the defective rounds, and give us a bit more info. Were they all from the same box?

Imagine if you were a U.S. soldier and you ripped open a box of ammo and found this?

I'm guessing that soldiers don't use economy grade ammo.
