I have bought 2 sets of grips from Barsony on ebay for both my highpowers. I bought a walnut /half checkered for one. And I bought the half checkered ash wood white grips. Let me tell you they look just wonderful. Went on with no trouble at all. As easy as unscrewing the originals on there and he offers many other configurations. I am a left handed shooter so I had to pass on the raised thumb ones. I also want you to know that if you choose one from the buy now or best offer, you will more than likely get them cheaper. He answers quickly with reply and I got mine for around 14 or 15 dollars each. I highly reccomend him and let me tell you he will ship them right away to you. I had mine in less than a week.

Hey Whiteymin. That's great to hear. I checked out feedback but there was so much I couldn't get a handle on the grips. I really like the canarywood and can see getting a few others. Thanks for the info. So far that seller's communications have been prompt and shipping is right when it should be.

Storm and others:

Yes I bought 2 pairs and I will be buying more because he does great work and service. If you pay attention to feedback you will see him at 99% and that is with many 1000's of orders, so my friend that is a very good reputation. Go for it. Choose one of the make an offer's and he is more than fair and will work it out. What more can you ask for in custom affordable grips for the High Power.

Anyone have a spec or drawing for the Hi Power sear spring. Without going into a lot of detail (dumb move) I have been adjusting one and just cant' get back to a good crisp trigger pull. If I had a drawing maybe I could get it back into the right profile.

As I like to know what I own and the proper name, my new Hi Power is described on the box and in the owner's manual as a "FN-Herstal HP-SFS". Is this still a Mark III or more properly referred to as a "HP-SFS". A minor point maybe, but I'd like to know.

BTW, the SFS really makes a lot of sense to me, but its going to be a bear to get used to as it's basically the opposite of what you would think it should be.

Smith and Wesson Man asked
Hey Stinger1, what kind of custom work was done on those two barrels? I swear I have seen those before. What is the advantage of those?

Twins010a.jpg

The pistols you are referring to are not custom, they are a pair of BHP G-35 Competition models strictly for target shooting. What you see is how they were mfgd. by FN back in the '80's. Depending on condition they range in price from $900.00 to $1300.00. I only have one now as I got a good price for the other enabling me to pursue other firearms.

There is an excellant article at Stephen Camps Website about this pistol. Also for those who are interested in HP's (as most here are), are other articles about the HP in general By Stephen Camp just click on this link http://www.hipowersandhandguns.com/FN%20Competition%20Model.htm

Save Me a Seat!

I'll sit in on this one! :)

I have a 70's Commercial BHP. Fixed sights, 'bone stock'... though from time to time I think about an extended thumb safety for it.

It's very clearly the class of the 9's. I think so anyway! :D

I have a FEG R9 D/A Hi-Power clone I bought in 1988 for $249.00. It has wood grips, came with two 13 round mags and is quite possibly one of the strongest semi-autos I've ever fired. I love the idea of a double action Hi-Power. :D
Last year I was out shooting some old reloads my father-in-law got from God knows where when I had a KABOOM! from a case failure. The grips were nearly blown off and the recoil was, well, interesting in it's intensity. First things I did was make sure I still had all my fingers and the guy next to me was not bleeding. I had to get it checked out and it came out with no damage other than a few splinters off the grips. It still fires accurately and is as reliable as ever.
To say the least, I am very pleased. I believe the fact the Europeans tend to shoot hotter loads them we do here in the U.S.(from what I've read) and thus the makers make the frames and other components good and strong had a lot to do with my gun coming through as well as it did.

I Not Only Have a MkIII, it's a .357 SIG!

I've had several Hi-Powers over the years but always wanted a custom. So I bought a new MkIII .40 S&W Browning (beautiful, deep blue) and went nuts. Professionally installed; C&S matched, forged hammer & sear set, C&S reduced-effort transfer bar, C&S 1911-style ambi hardchrome safety, C&S wide hardchrome target trigger, Pachmyer extended slide release, Navidrex thin-line checkered Micarta grips...and then fitted with a KKM Precision .357 SIG barrel (just for fun).

Yeah, there are pistols with higher capacity (10+1). Yeah, there are NICE pistols I could've bought with the $$$$ I spent. But there is NOTHING that feels better, shoots better & looks better doing it than my very own, very personal, very opinionated version of the "perfect handgun"...the .357 SIG Browning Hi-Power.

I'm ALL IN Gentlemen. And if my wife will show me how to use "our" new 10.2 MEG digital Sony SLR camera, I'll let ya' SEE it!

Oh, please Mrs. Ghost Tracker, show your hubby how to use that new camera!!! I can't wait to see this project.

I just bought a Hi Power Practical in 9mm and then ordered some goodies from C&S. I am anxiously waiting for the UPS man.
