Do you have dedicated mags just for range?

Nope not really. Going to th range I normally take the magazine which is in the gun plus one. Matters not handgun or rifle. They all work just fine. Discounting AR mags which I have no idea how many I have or 1911 mags which are same really matters not to me which I grab. They all function fine so matters not to me which ones I grab.
