Does any one carry old pistols?

I bought my first centerfire handgun 30 years ago. It is a .32 Walther PP. I was told it was a refurbished German police issued weapon. I still carry it on a regular basis. I know, a mouse gun, but I like it.

Yep....I carry any of several older pistols when the occasion suits them:
1956 Astra 2000 (.22)

.....
1958 Beretta 950B (.25acp)

.....
1983 Bauer (.25acp)

1984 Davis D-32 (.32acp)

1983 Bersa 383 (.380acp)

How about a 1929 Spanish Ruby .32 acp. Strictly a close range, 10 yards or less weapon, but I have put 100 rounds through it a few different times and have found it to be very reliable. No jams, or failures. I carry it sometimes.

I carry my Colt 1903 Hammerless .32acp PM (mfged in 1913 - 145xxx) on occassion. It goes bang every time the trigger is squeezed and is accurate out to 15 - 20 yrds in my hands. :)

The guns I have are all old, and I am getting there. :( I don't think I have anything newer than from the 1980's. (Ruger Mk II, P85 and S&W 25-5)

...

Oh wait a minute. I did get a Model 940 Smith before it was discontinued. Must have forgotten in my old age.

The Doc is out now.

colt 1903 made in '35. carrry when it suits my fancy-mostly spring & fall.shoot a couple of boxes a month...excellant point shooter with amazing penetration.

I am another who has carried Colt's 1903s and 1908s. Great pocket guns.

Oldest one is a 1916 vintage and the newest is a 1936.

1934 S&W 38/44 Heavy Duty for me. I have found that locals don't sweat a guy out with a revolver looking at rocks as much as with a big black glock.

Not that old, since it is US made, but often as not my carry gun is a PPK. At the moment that is the oldest handgun I have though there are a couple of old S&Ws I wouldn't mind having, like a nice 4" Model 19.

I've got a pair of USGI Colts...1942 and 1943 DOB...that are part of my carry rotation. I don't carry'em as often as I used to...but they still do yeoman service at times.

For several years, up until about 1995, I also carried a 1918 USGI Colt most of the time. It's retired now, and living in a condo somewhere on the French Riveria.

kamerer, I am quite envious of your setup! That rocks hard man!

I've been known to carry a S&W M&P that was made in 1947 and a 1958 Colt Dick Special (since traded.) Being born in the late 70's, I guess I consider these "old."

The oldest design I've ever "carried" was a 1858 Remington cap & ball repro revolver that I kept in my vehicle when I was too young to buy a "real" handgun.

2 of my handguns are older than I am.
Glock 32
S&W 10-4 (1962) 60% my favorite beater
Colt 1911 .45 (1956) 98%
Colt Diamond back
Ruger Standard

Just cause it is old doesnt mean it isnt reliable. They actually used gunsmiths to assemble weapon systems back in the day.

1930 M&P get packed in the woods occasionally. 1970 Detective Special was my Sunday gun this week. Those are the oldest two that I carry.

1870 British revolver, not so much. Stays in the safe, pull it out and look at it every few months. Don't even have any ammo for it.

I sometimes still carry a Mauser made P-08 Luger manufactured in 1941. The age of a firearm doesn't really mean anything if its in good condition and well maintained.

I sometimes keep my Brazilian issue 1937 S&W Model 1917 .45 in my night stand. I don't carry it, though.

I like older guns...my most liked is a 5 screw S&W M-10 which someone converted to a PPC revolver. When PPC was big I was a city PD sergeant making $3.43 an hour and they were so far out of my range that they might have wells have been on the Moon. Now, I have "Thumper" and I am happy. My most carried is an older AMT DAO .45acp which is a daily carry item. It is one of the first ones made and works like a champ. One step up is a Detonics CombatMaster. I have newer guns I like, but some of the "elderly", like me, ones, like my Colt .25acp, work great and carry better and I'll always carry them.

I carry an M1911A1, currently a Kimber Classic, but I used to carry an M1927 Argentine, made in Argentina in the '30s on Colt machinery under Colt supervision.

I will also sometimes stick a Colt Detective Special in my pocket, made around 1960.

I sometimes carry "Old Style" guns..{all are of 2001 or later manuiacture, though...}

Blackhawk/Vaquero
1911-A1's

Sometimes, my Pietta 'Navy Colt' .44 BP revolver...

My carry gun is old Dan Wesson 357 (High Standard). It is on its second cyl, third barrel, and fourth parkerize job. It goes bang every time EXACTLY where I want it to.

Colt SSA's are one of my favorite pack'n pistols.

A 1950 Target S&W .44 Spl. is another.

A 1936 & 1938 Colt Woodsmen are my favorite .22's.

And of course the 1911's!

The oldest and one I really trust....

Introducing my antique Webley .38, made by P. Webley & Son, before Webley hooked up with Scott. If it's coat weather, I carry it very occasionally. It's the best natural pointer I've ever experienced. And, it has quality workmanship out the wazoo!
