US mainstream media are not state-run;

With all due respect, I'm gonna hazard a guess that everyone in this thread understands this.

(most) US mainstream media have an ideological bias against private ownership of firearms.

Which absolutely aligns with the ideals, stated intentions and much of the written platform of the Democrat Party in this country, which, by the way, currently possesses majorities in the U.S. Senate, half of our state legislatures and the U.S. Presidential administration.

So while stating the U.S. mainstream media is not "state run" is technically true, the reality is such that it simply doesn't make any difference at this point.
