2 years ago my soldier son home on leave from his Iraq deployment gave me a Browning High Power Practical for Christmas. Most accurate pistol I have, and now probably the most treasured.

The current wife gave me a Ruger Security Six in 1976 for Christmas.

A couple years ago I had been eyeballing a Marlin 336c in 30/30. Come christmas morning there was a gun box under the tree from my wife. I opened it up to find a red ryder bb gun:(. She told me that I watch the movie a christmas story like a thousand times a year so she thought that's what I wanted. Oh well its the thought that counts. Really I have spent hours with that red ryder in the back yard with the kids teaching them how to shoot. In hind sight it has been a great gift.

just about every year, either some one in my family or I get a gun for christmas.

last year I gave my 60yr old mother a nice remmy 700 ADL topped off with a set of iron sights, see thru scope mounts and a nice bushnell fullfield II scope and 80rds of ammo (scope was sighted in by me). She looked like a little kid on christmas when I pulled out the gun and said here you go mom. I promised to take her deer hunting next fall (too many hunts all ready planned and paid for this year).

Yeah, this year I bought myself an M&P-15 MOE in black. My first rifle, and only my second gun. I bought it early because my own funds contributed to the purchase, but the wife told me to put my Christmas money towards it. I love my wife :)

No. But, this year things may change as I may be getting a much needed 3" to 3 1/2" barreled semi-auto as a gift.

My Sears 2200 (Ithaca model 49) was my first ever X-mas present in 1981 (I was born in August of that year).

Yep, my first Christmas gun was a Savage 22 - when I was 39!
Last year, when my daughter was 9, she got a combo BB/pellet rifle for Christmas. This year, she's getting a Marlin Model 60 for Christmas.

I've gotten two guns for Chritmas, at ages 12 and 13. At 12, I got a Marlin 881 .22, which still serves me well today, and has killed countless praire dogs and bunnies. At 13, I got an AMerican Arms Shotgun, a "Silver 1" o/u. That gun has served as my upland hunting shotgun ever since, and, on a side note, I killed a white barn pigeon on Christmas morning with the VERY FIRST SHOT ever fired from it. I guess when I was drooling over it in the shop and noticed it fit like a glove, I was right!!!! I don't necessarily remember opening the gun, but I definitely remember shooting it the first time!!

When I was 9 (1962) I got a Remington Model-514 .22 single shot rifle. It's sitting in the gun safe. It's about due for a trip to the range. Maybe Sunday.
I have several very good .22 rifles. I've been thinking about giving one to my nephew for X-mas this year. I have Marlin Model-25N with a cheap Tasco scope that's been sitting in my safe for 3 years that he could use for small game. We're having a big family get together today at my sister's so I'm going to surprise him.

yup..

several through the years.. still have the old Stevens .410 and the Marlin 60. those were the first ones.. shotgun at 7, .22 at 9

in hindsight, I'm thinking dad got tired of me shooting his Winchester and bought me the Marlin..

I received a 1909 Fox Sterlingworth 12 ga SXS for Xmas in 1947 and my brother got a Winchester 1894 Lever Action Rifle from my grandfather. These weapons have been in the family since new and will be passed on to our oldest grandsons as did my grandfather.

I was given my Mossberg 500A when I was a teen. Best. Christmas. EVAR.

No guns as gifts otherwise, but I've also received a few accessories for the 500 for Christmas/Birthday gifts since. Mainly a rifled/ported barrel, and a scope (scope wasn't meant for a shotgun though, so it was moved to my Rem .222)
Can't complain at all, these are gifts from non-shooters.

Sure 'nuff received a Daisy Red Ryder BB gun for Christmas when I was 4 years old.
Received a Springfield .22 Single Shot the Christmas I turned 6.
Received a Daisy BB pistol the Christmas I turned 8.
Received a H&R 20 gauge the Christmas I turned 10.
Received a Remington 870 12 gauge the Christmas I turned 12.
Received a Sears 30-30 the Christmas I turned 14.

I've given about a dozen firearms as Christmas present.

I can't believe how many other posters got a .20 gauge and a 10/22 for first guns or Christmas gifts. Uncanny really. I actually did have my eye shot out w/ a pellet rifle - and I have recieved no less than 7 copies of A Christmas Story over the years from friends who think they are being original and hilarious. On the good side, as soon as I was out of the hospital and feeling better, my step-dad took me out to go shooting - His philosophy was simple. "Your'e only 7, you need to start shooting left handed NOW and it will never be a handicap. " Bless that man; he was right.
