I need to stock up on SRP, but at current prices, I have been buying cases of Lake City cartridges instead. Those prices seem to have stagnated since the beginning of the year. I had to scrounge to find deals and rebates that would get me LC 5.56 at less than $0.40 taxed and shipped. It's not been getting easier, but the prices are not rising either.
I need a small amount of LRMP for load development and hunting. Those still seem very scarce and costly, but the quantity I need is so small that the price doesn't matter much. I decided to forbear applying for pronghorn tags this year because my sons had bonus points and I did not. Even so, they didn't win the tags. That means it will be at least two seasons before I need those LRMP, because they'll apply with 2 points next year and I won't spoil their chances with my 1 point (party hunt). If they get tags next year, in 2025, I'll have a point and they won't, so we'll see if we get tags then. Their rifles can use LRP or SRP. The boys did get Mule Deer tags again (from the junior pool). Some season in the future they won't hunt with me because they'll be at college or something and then I'll use my points and those LRMP. Until then, I can wait.
I have plenty of SPP from 2019, but I'll resupply when the prices fall to 4 or 5 cents depending on the make/model. I understand inflation won't result in prices going down, but a supply glut could and a glut in SPP is the most likely. Military demand for SRP is not likely to allow for a supply glut in those anytime soon.
