I think most of us know about the big protests that are scheduled for monday. I am starting to hear from local companies that many have already had employees tell them that they are going to do work stoppages.

Some of the companies are planning on firing anyone who isn't there on Monday, some are just closing themselves, and letting their employees go.

Is anyone concerned that there might be violence during these "protests"?

I haven't been too concerned, until I started to hear from local companies that have mentioned it, and I realized that half of my town is migrant workers.

I don't think there will be much of an issue, but I am thinking I will take a few extra precautions.

What about you?

I.G.B.

I don't have a feel for the potential of violence, but this is going to be extremely interesting. Even my dear old Left-Wing mother is horrified about the National Anthem in Spanish.

I am most likely going to buy a gun on Monday. It is the most patriotic thing I can think of to do. I will also avoid downtown to make sure not to get involved in any of the festivities.

Well, I had some pieces loaded when they offed Dookie, and it turned out to be nothing. I genuinely thought it could be another 1992.

I'm inclined to think that nothing will really happen.

This will put a real damper on Cinco de Mayo, though. No Gringo will want to get plastered and wave Mexican flags this year, despite that being the norm here on May 5.

Just watch the big oil companies use the May 1st (the Socialist May Day holiday) disruption as yet another reason to raise prices at the pump.

How about two tiered pricing?
$2 a gallon if you are here legally, $20 a gallon for illegals.

I think an extra mag, red/white/blue apparel. For those who don't fly the American flag on a regular basis, do so. Write/email your representatives. Encourage local ICE to round up a large contingent of illegals. I don't know, what else?

Maybe I will go to the range and sight in my new scope on the AR...sounds like fun to me!

I buy 5-6 guns a year. Maybe Monday would be a good day to buy the next one.

As far as trouble, I don't really know, but you can bet I won't be anywhere near the protest crowds.

will be buying and extra box of 30-30.

Doubt there will be anything and I'm not in Tampa...but if it does get violent I'm nto far enough away to feel safe there wont be some localized thugs joining in on the "fun" from a distence of a few miles.

As to those who don't show up, I say fire them.

I'm going to drive around town that day with my trunk lid closed on a chihuahua stuffed dog's head...

Might burn a Mexican flag, too...

Might throw rocks towards Mexico...

I always load up a few hundred rounds and get things ready on May 1st- International Socialism Day- for the last 30 years!!!:uhoh:

The whole idea really offends me, but after being a first hand witness to several huge protests in my city, I'm not worried about any violence (any more than usual, that is)

Please don't tell me that there is going to be an "Uno de Mayo" holiday now as well.

There already is an "Uno de Mayo" holiday ... its called May Day.

Remember folks, these "protests" are being orchestrated by A.N.S.W.E.R (which is basically the global outreach program of the Communist party).

I'm going to be busy firing a bunch of left leaning 4th and 5th generation hispanic office workers who think it'll be cool to not show up tomorrow. Already sent out a memo that said, no doctor's note; no pre-approved vacation or personal time being taken = no job. Still, some will push it thinking they really won't get fired . . . surprise. Already have our lawyers prepped to get ready for the ACLU (and we are).

Good for you ART. May Day means Pathophysiology final for me. As long as the Mexicans don't make me late for my test, I say let them piss the rest of America off.

I just posted over in the rifle forum/ endles rifle debate thread that I might have to buy an SKS come Monday when I get paid. Now you guys are just fueling that fire - and it doesnt need fueling. It's my first check with my new rank pay raise plus my annual clothing allowance rolled into it - it's already trying to burn a hole in my pocket and I don't even have it yet. Arrgh.

I'm going to the range to test ammo for an article Monday.
So it's work and play for me that day.

I wonder if I can find a Che target?
