I have never owned a Raven or a Hi-Point either and if you ask me, I will tell you that they are POS...
I do not own a SIG P210, but I can infer that they are great guns...

Thanks to the internet you can now draw pretty accurate conclusions without wasting your hard earned cash.

The reason I put the last 2 things in the poll is to see who talks from lack of experience.

I was reading a review of some gun or another and they tested the extreme shock stuff in it. As far as velocity goes, it was noticeably faster than the other loads, but a significant amount. Then again, i think they sell it in five shot lots and the fact that they call some of their stuff "anti-terrorist" bullets rubs me the wrong way.

As far as velocity goes, it was noticeably faster than the other loads

Which doesn't tell us anything about it's effectiveness one way or another.

I haven't used this ammo either and won't even bother. Doesn't take a genius to see it for what it is.

The poll is kind of slanted either by design or over site. It does not give us the option of not using the ammo based on published tests. It looks like it was set up to show that we refuse to use ammo that we know nothing about.

On a side note.

This ammo appeared about the time that the WMD's disappeared from Iraq. Just food for though.

I have not used it, nor do I intend to. First of all, the box of truth review says a lot about whether to even bother trying it. Secondly.. ugh the marketing. Straight out of the 80s with the hypercolorful lightning bolts and explosions and such. Some people have said it appears to be marketed to the "mall ninja", but I don't even know about that.. the logo on their main ad page looks more to me like the packaging on some second rate kids toy. I mean .. just look at this ? What adult can look at this and take it the least bit seriously ?

gunblast.com gave the ammo a good review this month. Their review was partially based on the 9mm ammo's ability to drop a wild hog. I've always imagined the stuff was marketed to ignorant mall ninjas. But the article at gunblast is pretty detailed. I don't know what to think now. Even if its a bonafide death ray, I'll stick with federal's bple and other proven loads. They are less than half the price and perform well.

I cannot give a thumb's up to this ammo based on test results carried out by the ammo testers over in the Terminal Effects Forum on Tactical Forums. My experience with them has been overall favorable and I find them to be reasonably objective in their testing.
Have also read negative test results at Box-o-Truth, IIRC.

Testing from folks other than the manufacturer are the best way I've found to gauge reliability of any round. If the testers are not affiliated in any way with said maker, their results carry more weight with me. Now, of course, the best method of all is to test for oneself, but, that isn't always possible. So, gotta go with plan B.

Oh, and yes, I too find the marketing of this company to be an insult to my intelligence. :barf:

I looked around their site and at the gunblast review a bit more and am just shaking my head. They have a subsonic round in .44 for their "Silent Warrior" line of ammunition. Now i'm sure we know what that most likely means... this round is intended for a 44mag Desert Eagle with a silencer. Also they have a shotgun round titled the CTJ which supposedly stands for "come to jesus". Call me crazy but i for one would be reluctant to buy something from a company that had this kind of whackiness.

For the prices they charge for a handful of rounds, they better be heat seeking ultra destructive mushroom cloud-laying apocalypse bringing bullets of death that not only kill your adversary but slaps his momma and sows his family fields with salt as well.

Extreme Shock or Extrme Flop? The only extreme shock I felt was the price and the poor functioning.

Bad, bad, bad. Unreliable feeding. The edges of the projectile tended to "dig-in" and catch on everything. The ammo was erratic at best for accuracy. I bought several boxes of each of the ammo pictured below. Neither was acceptible for me. The worst was the type on the left... the jagged edged. I still have a couple around. I will never purchase it again. I am sold on Winchester Personal Defense 230 Gn. HPs.

I think it's got the silliest marketing of any ammo. Prices are exorbitant - and published results seem to indicate that it's just another HP/JHP round - one which isn't significantly better than other HP/JHP from more mainstream companies (Federal, Corbon, Hornady, Winchester...). It does apparently expand, as per Gunblast's test on the pig.

I probably won't ever buy any - cost/benefits analysis on my part gives me the notion that I wouldn't have enough money to make dead sure the rounds were reliable in my gun - and I don't think the rounds perform that much better than mainstream SD loads. Besides that, I don't know if ES's quality control is up to par or not... their ammo is too pricey to tell, I reckon. When the marketing is really over-the-top, I get suspicious. Just me, though.

I have not used anything made by them. Their pricing and marketing are terrible. I would not buy their ammo even if it were priced lower than what I currently carry just because of their ridiculous marketing. Also, it isn't up to me to prove that their ammo is inferior. It is up to them to prove to me why their ammo is so great and warrants that insane price. A video of them shooting a hog with a 9mm isn't sufficient evidence. To me, everything points to gimmick when it comes to Extreme Shock. They can go ahead and attempt to prove me wrong...but I don't see that happening in this case.

They have to maximise their profits because their intended market is for newby shooters. They buy the ammo because it has high velocities and big price. That means that the ammo is good.

The Box o' Truth pretty much debunked this stuff, IIRC. I would rather use that much money for more practice ammo, myself.

But this:

For the prices they charge for a handful of rounds, they better be heat seeking ultra destructive mushroom cloud-laying apocalypse bringing bullets of death that not only kill your adversary but slaps his momma and sows his family fields with salt as well.

...has got to be the quote of the week. ROTFL!!!!!

When I saw that pic I was sure that it was a gag that someone drew up.....the fact that it's real makes it even funnier. I can't imagine why anyone with half a brain would buy that after seeing that ad...
