Thanks to all for the advice concerning my earlier post, same subject. For what it's worth, I had a co-worker look over your inputs, and he came up with some thoughts of his own. It seems to me that he had some good advice to share, as it might be applicable to other incidents:
(1) Since the SIL was holding a baby, he should contact the state attorney who is handling the case and get child endangerment charges added. (OK, maybe this wouldn't be applicable to EVERYONE, but the concept of looking for additional charges is a good one.)
(2) The SIL needs to get his name stricken from any records, just in case the thugs haven't yet thought to look him up.
(3) The SIL needs to get the names of the perp and his friends (who were probably written up as witnesses) and see if they posted any videos of the assault on U-Tube, and to see if they have posted any other videos of other assaults. If he finds any, he needs to share them with the state attorney. (Seems to me that this is something new that we all should consider, if the cops don't already do this.)
(4) The SIL also needs to check to see if the perp has any previous record, and if so, insist that the state attorney bring this up in court.
Again, thanks.
