A week ago we had a Glock thread with Moses & the ten commandments.. Now the rapture!
I've been a Glock LIKER for years, but I'm starting to wonder how long it'll be before the "glockkies" are knocking on my door on weekends!

Glocks are the guns to shoot. Others are to collect and put in the safe. You can shoot 'em on occasion.

Those others I mentioned get ran every bit as hard(some even harder) as the G19.

I'm not seeing that Glocks are any more durable than ANY of the other three I mentioned.

I'm all ears for your experierence in making that statement though.

My M&P9 gets run harder than my Glock 19.....and it outperforms it to boot...

Thats easy, I'd go to my safe and give a sorrowful look at the empty places where my Glocks used to be. Then I'd just pick up one of my Smiths or XDs and never skip a beat.

I'd buy an XDm in 9mm. My buddy has one and I shoot it better than he does. He also shot my Glock better than I did (when I owned it).

Very good question... I use Glock for primary carry because of my experiences with them and premium reliability, capacity, trigger, etc... Essentially, I trust them (for me) more than anything else. However, if I were to have to surrender my Glocks to something as likely as the rapture, I'd say...

Springfield XD(M) .45acp... 4.25" would be my new primary carry weapon.

There are a lot of guns I like a LOT (like the EAA Witness or Taurus 24/7) but simply cannot go so far as to trust them as much as Glock. I know there are others as reliable, but there are other things about them I don't like as much.

If Glocks disappeared...I'd be shopping for a new handgun the next day. I'd carry one of my revolvers, but they're not configured for self-defense in the way I like.
