Friends & Gun Comments During Movies

The recent Desperado sequel had me laughing out loud in the theater - it had some of the funniest Stupid Gun Tricks I've seen in a while. My fave was the repeatedly-shown-in-closeup snubbie revolver with the huge can suppressor. :what: I giggled every time it showed up.

I was convinced they had to have done all that for the comedy and was surprised when my pertner 'shushed' me; then I noticed the other theater patrons all glaring - they were taking it seriously!

Eedjits. :banghead:

At least Banderas and Depp (for all their twisted attitudes in general) seemed to realize the comic aspects and played the whole thing for laughs - as far as I could se, anyway. YMMV

Nothing worse then watching a war type movie with the amazing 500 round magazine loaded into a weapon, or having a missile fire off a plane, while it's sitting on the ground. Complete crap! It is funny when I say something like "That can't happen" or "Hummmm isn't that the 15th shot out of that shotgun." I love the eye rolls my friends do when that happens. I don't do it in a movie theater, but they know what I'm thinking when I shake my head. For the most part they think it's funny

Nope, my friends are trained as well as my son! They know to be quite through the movie & save their comments for later :) Unless of course we're talking about an Angelina Jolie movie & I'm making the comments re: those guns   :D

Back when Star Wars first hit the theatres in - what, 1976? I remember the scene at the beginning when the stormtroopers were boarding - ray gun bolts were flying EVERYWHERE, and nobody was being hit.

I said "For crying out loud, my mother is a better shot than those guys."

The people in front turned around to look at me.

"Well, she is!" sez I.
I always wanted to know what would happen if you filled a room half-way with Storm Troopers and half-way with Star Trek Redshirted Ensigns. The troopers cant hit teh broad side of a barn while inside of it, and if a BG looks at a STRE the wrong way, they die a horribly gruesome death. Personally, I think the universe would explode or something.

I did like in "training day" how the newbie cop fully unloaded his gun before stupidly handing it over to the BGs.

What happens is the stormtroopers can't miss, and the redshirt die horribly, as is their fate.

I believe thats the Imperial training method, to instill confidence and a sense of invulnerability in the troops.

(Of course, "only imperial stormtroopers are so precise...when slaughtering jawas)

The one that made be URK out loud was the latest 007 flick, when he was in the training sim.

Bond was just sort of....diligently poking at the open action/mag well with a bore brush when the bad guys appeared. He slaps in a mag, closes the action, and is off to the races.

The sound coming out of me made my buddy think I was having a medical problem.
