My best friend called me the other day because she and her fiancee had to run some errands and they don't have a car and offered me dinner in exchange for playing choffur (spelling?). I agreed and while we were out running around I mentioned that I needed to get an oil change and if they were up for chineese food we could eat at the place next to wlamart while thay worked on my car. They agreed and after dinner we still had about half an hour to kill before my car was ready so we just wandered around wallmart.

While My friend and I were goofing off in the toy section with the "Try ME!" stuff her fiancee wandered off. He came back about 20 minuts later and said to my best firend

"Would you be mad If I said I wanted to buy the Winchester 30/30 they have over in the hunting section?"

My friend just kinda stood looking confused for a moment before saying "fine...but it stays in the closet if you aren't using it."

She isn't anti...just nervouse around guns...Her Fiancee and I are working on that.:D

We went into wallmart for an oil change and walked out with a winchester 30/30 a couple boxes of ammo...and a very large "kid on christmas morning" grin on the fiancee's face...gatta love Wallmart.:D

and February is coming up. Clearance time.
$800 rifles for $125. Just get 'em out of here.
If you look at WW's website it looks like all they will be carrying are CZ rifles. May all those Savages and Remy's and what not will just get tossed at low prices? Oh I hope.

Last year, I'd gotten a Rem 870 supermag w/wood furniture for $175...with a $50 rebate on it, too, after that. So $125. Clearances there are good, yes. :D

On the downside, it seems like a lot of Wal-Marts have been shrinking their firearms sections and inventory more and more and more, and putting in airsoft stuff instead :barf:

I even kind of wonder if that's some kind of insidious anti effort, the fact that in a lot of sporting goods stores now, if you ask for where the guns are, they point you to the airsoft toys...all they carry. REAL ones? Oh, no, no, none of those anymore.

I just gotta say it. How about saving that money for a CAR !!
Dont get me wrong Im happy when someone buys a gun :D but if I read the story right they need a car.

I will be watching for deals on guns at WalMart

it is the end of hunting season nation wide. some are earlier etc but none past feb and they then clear out last years models sometimes HUGE discounts Ruger mini 14's for $210 10-22 deluxs for 79 bucks. Remington 700 ADL walnuts for 199. you get teh idea hit or miss but when you win even the wife has to say wooohooo

What?! You mean you and your friend's fiancé didn't have any significant problems in dealing with what you wanted at Wal*Mart and you're not complaining?! You spent your hard earned money for goods and services that were offerred and provided in a timely fashion at a convenient location considering they are not a specialty store? There's something seriously wrong here. Don't you know Wal*Mart is the corporate devil? They are going to DESTROY America! Even though they got their start here and are one of, if not the, biggest employer of Americans. They are a front for a Chinese invasion! Despite also selling goods made by Americans, and Japanese, and Canadians, and Mexicans, and etc. They are sucking the blood of their employees! The same ones who choose to work and stay there.

You did pick up some value packs, didn't you?

Antis hate airsoft guns as much if not more than real ones.

I was expecting another story about a strange WalMart experience and as I read further I started to think about how odd it was that your WalMart has a Chinese restaurant next to it... Mine does to... Weird how we magically take possession of the WalMarts... Then I noticed your locale... Let's go errs!!!

My fiancée's mother works at a WM in Ohio and we used to get a discount on everything but food... The Winny White box ammo was a steal at 10% off.

You should take a trip up 79 and visit Ace Sporting Goods in Washington, PA. They have a good selection of handguns although they are pricey.

Not at all. They have a friend with a car. Besides, cars tend to require messy things like oil changes. :)

See..I'm a college student still living in the dorm at the mercy of the dining hall so when someone offers me a free meal of 'real' food I'm not gonna complain...if all it takes is giving them a lift to someplace I am already going then hey!

First thread I've read about a "closet gunner". :D I keep getting this vision of him sitting there at the dinner table with his rifle...you know, knife, fork, rifle....
Mark.

Was just at Wally World today looking at the following

Winchester Model 70 in 7mm & 300 Win Mag with a nice Leupold Scope $398.99
Winchester Model 94 in 30-30 $398.99
Marlin 1894 in 30-30 $398.99

& the Guy behind the counter said they might be getting in some Marlin 1894 45-70's in a month or 2.

& Here I am without enough cash to even buy a single round of ammo nevermind a Rifle...:banghead:
