Receiver is CNC-machined from solid-bar stock steel. Action features a full-length Picatinny dimensioned scope rail machined into the receiver top adding strength and helping to stiffen the already stout action.

The full-length Picatinny rail features MIL STD 1913 cuts and 20 MOA of incline. Since the scope rail is machined directly into the receiver, there's no weak point introduced by screws or dowel pins.

Recoil lugs on the bottom of the receiver interlock with the aluminum-bedding block epoxied rigidly into the stock. The flat-bottom receiver and aluminum-bedding block provide a stable foundation for accuracy.

A three-lug (fat-bolt) bolt with a 60-degree rotation rides smoothly inside the receiver.

The bolt body is fluted preventing dirt or debris from creating a bind in the Warlord's action. Using the tool provided - the bolt is easily disassembled for routine maintenance.

A "T-slot" extractor fitted into one of the lugs and a conventional plunger-type ejector provide reliable functioning.

Protruding from the rear of the bolt sleeve is a cocking indicator that is both tactile and visual.

Adjustable trigger, preset to 3-3.5 pounds, is fitted to the action.

A two-position safety is mounted to the rear of the bolt handle and allows a marksman to load/unload the rifle with safety engaged. A separate bolt-lock is mounted to ensure the bolt remains closed during transport. The bolt lock is automatically disengaged when the safety's pushed to the "fire" position.

Thompson/Center uses a Badger Ordnance's well-respected bottom metal design which incorporates a paddle magazine-release and feeds from five- or 10-shot magazines (in .308 Winchester).

The T/C Icon's action was designed from the ground up to feed from detachable magazines. It's design is new to the industry. It's a detachable box magazine design that works properly with domestically produced precision rifles.

Mated to the Warlord's action is a heavy tapered, stainless steel, deeply fluted, match-grade barrel measuring .9 inches at the muzzle. Rifling is offered in 1:10, 1:11.25 or 1:12 inch twist. 5R rifling is featured and the standard barrel length is 20 inches.

The barreled action is bolted into a Manner's composite T2A stock. The Manner stock's fitted with an adjustable cheekpiece, Pachmyr recoil pad and flush side-sling attachments. Metalwork is finished in Thompson/Center's "Weather Shield" finish for added protection from the elements.

Initially, Thompson/Center is offering the Warlord through its Custom Shop. Customers can choose individual features and options.

Offered now in .308 Winchester chambering. Thompson/Center has plans for a longer action specifically for the .338 Lapua Magnum not yet available.

FFL REQUIRED.

Here it is... the Thompson Center Warlord Rifle. :what:

The T/C rep. just left the store. Man what a nice piece of iron.

Check out all the attributes.... All the crap you mall ninjas desire, my self included, hehehe.

Should be a sweet machine, 5R rifling, killer stock, floated barrel,1/2" MOA guarantee,ect...

Will be available in 338 lapua in the distant future. 308 for now.

100% made in the U.S.of A., No foreign made parts that are shipped into the U.S. and then assembled here. T/C even make there own barrels.

:D

They did a segment on that rifle on one of the gun shows on the Outdoor Channel a month or so back. I'm sure it will have a nice little price tag on it.

T/C is also coming out with a great looking varmint rifle based on the Icon as well.

My savage model 12 shoots 1/2 moa. It only cost & 465.00. And the trigger ajusts down to 1.5lbs.

I have had no luck getting Savages to shoot................two bargan rifles that do really shoot well are the Tikka T3 Varmint (just cut the bbl to the desired length and you have a tactical bolt rifle) and the Rem 700 SPS Tactical. Both are a lot of gun for the money.

I have had no luck getting Savages to shoot

That is really odd... We sell more Savage rifles than any other brand and most customers comment on how well their Savages shoot.

For a while we would hang peoples targets on the back wall... it was a testament to their shooting prowess and the rifles which made it possible.

Of all the non-modified factory rifles that shot extremely tight groups, it was primarily the Savages.

But back to the T/C Warlord.....

:D

I've never had any luck with Savages shooting well either. I keep reading on the internet about how great they are but they I've tried 3 and never got a single group under about 1 1/4". The Tikka's I've owned and shot have all been 3/4" or better.

Dude a Rem. 700 SPS Tac. will do that to, and for alot less money, a SPS-V will to with a stock change it's still WAY less. Hell for 3k I can almost get a GAP rifle.

And I'm not hating on the Icon, I'm just saying there's equal for less.

Hmm. 22" barrel at the top of the blurb, 20" at the bottom. Too short either way unless they think they can sell them to SWATs to carry in car trunks.

Well, the fluted bolt for smooth operation didn't hurt, especially knowing that it has that nitride tactical coat. :)

Where's the "OMG!! DON'T CALL IT A SNIPER RIFLE!!!" crowd?

Wow - three grand. And that trigger's a bit heavy.

Well, there's about 101 different .308 tactical rifles out there, so it's got to be a tough market, but it's also a big market evidently, so you don't need a huge share to do well. But like the other Icons, the *guarantee* of accuracy (in this case 1/2 MOA) is what sets it apart from the vast majority - they put their money where their mouth is, and that's definitely worth something, so I would bet they'll sell a lot of them with proper marketing, and the marketing should be decent, since S&W owns them now.

CZ 750, with the snipertype stock; undoubtedly , unquestionably, the best sniper rifle setup sold, that everyone could get into and afford. Don't know if they still make it, or if any out there used are for sale. I know a dude who had this, plus a TRG, plus an Accuracy int'l, plus another rig, and he said the CZ would shoot with the big boys, all day long.

I also understand , that if you can get one of the remington's 5r custom shop jobs, that they put out just so many of each year; that would be a real get.

Hell for 3k I can almost get a GAP rifle.

Hold on captain coupon...:) the $3000 price tag is MSRP.
Dealers will be doing better than three grand... and only the skumbaggiest(new word) gun shops will try and get the MSRP for one.

I do not know of any other, read carefully, production manufacturer that is going THAT far out on the proverbial limb!

Looks nice..., but for 3k it better!!!!! I'll take a 700LTR or a 700P, before I get the Icon.

...700LTR, 700P, not EVEN in the same class as this beast. If Remington was producing a rig with the same garnish... it would cost as much as a new Mercedes.

Can't figure that one myself... you would think they would at least offer a longer tube. Maybe later? It could be the 'cute' think going on.hehehe

And just think poor old Gunny Hathcock just had a danged old model 70!

Do you think the Gunny would have used this thing if it were available back then?

It has an Oversized Tactical Bolt Handle and that's the deal maker for me.

Yup... that's why I'll order one... no fancy bolt handle, no sniper rifle made!

All in all, if we are honest and real, it aint a bad set-up... just too much cash!

:D

Whoops... I stand corrected, the rep was in again today... I asked him about the price of this, oh so wonderful rifle and dealer pricing.... THERE IS NO DEALER PRICING!.... yep, that's what he said, and produced the pricing sheets to boot.

So, the 3 grand... whewww, price tag for the warlord is what everybody has to pay... according to this guy.:cuss:

He continues.... since it is a custom shop only item, T/C elected to not offer dealer pricing, go figure???? I don't understand that logic.

It was also said that MANY gunshops were upset that T/C was not offering dealer pricing but they(T/C) had taken a large numbers of orders for the Warlord to date.

Uncle Mike, umm... Remington has thier. Own version and it cost 2k, it has a B&C stock, tac. bolt handle and that triangle barrel (which I don't get why they don't just use a regular barrel). And Remington has that Sendaro, it's got all of the same features (from what I can tell), besides a tac. bolt knob as the Warlord, and it's under 2k.

I will agree with you on that the 700 Tactical Target has 'nearly' the same features as the Warlord...

I cannot agree with you on the Sendero statement. The Sendero is nothing more than a Varmint special with a different barrel.

And about that goofy looking triangle barrel... I still get laughs at the range...
I'm starting to understand why you would want to stay hidden with this rifle.
The rifle is not mine but belongs to the store, all of us get to shoot it and I can say it will shoot 1 "@ 100y... Barely.
