ya, you might be a gun nut!!.... somehow 45 mph road signs keep reminding me 45 Colt would be a good revolver caliber.
You can't go wrong with .452 diameter 255 grain chunks of lead!So in contemplating a big-bore revolver as a future purchase, somehow 45 mph road signs keep reminding me 45 Colt would be a good revolver caliber.

Pretty good performance in S&W model 25, even better in a Ruger Blackhawk! So in contemplating a big-bore revolver as a future purchase, somehow 45 mph road signs keep reminding me 45 Colt would be a good revolver caliber.
Oh, I get it. Single Action, if you don't cock the hammer, the trigger won't pull. That also explains those people posting revolvers in holsters that don't cover the trigger.I don't know about that. I looked at one of them Blackhawks and no matter how hard I pulled the trigger, it wouldn't go off.
The SW .460 can shoot 45 LC too! and is Sa/DAOh, I get it. Single Action, if you don't cock the hammer, the trigger won't pull. That also explains those people posting revolvers in holsters that don't cover the trigger.
Seems the S&W 25 is about the only double action 45 Colt revolver on the market.
Dang, I am using Accurate 2200 powder, what are you using? I also stick with the lower end of the charge weight for 458 as it lets me load a bit more rounds per pound and has slightly less recoil.I got you beat! My .458SC 405gr doing 1725!
yes, I handload!
Lil-Gun (I recall) I put a gas check 405gn 45/70 HC bullet to see if it would work, and it worked GREAT! try it!Dang, I am using Accurate 2200 powder, what are you using? LOL, funny you mention that... I actually haven't even shot it yet cause I'm waiting on a rig from Kirkpatrick Leather out of Laredo Texas! That reminds me, I need to get fitted for a Stetson...
Hmm interesting. Do you have a reputable place for load data I can look up or maybe a physical manual? And yeah I have a 10.5in radical firearms barrel and it works fine. The rest of the upper parts are basic mil spec type stuff. I have it on a SBRd Palmetto M4 clone lower with an Echo II in it.Lil-Gun (I recall) I put a gas check 405gn 45/70 HC bullet to see if it would work, and it worked GREAT! try it!
BCA 18” upper, Cheap but works
You may be a gun nut if you calculate cross sectional areas of various bullets. I just learned that a 32 ACP has about 2x the cross sectional area of a 22. That is impressive, as far as it goes. And the 32 ACP is about 80 percent the cross-section area of a 9mm.
I’m PM you my load when I back home. No published loads, internet experiments. Worked for me, No pressure signs, recoil was heavy.Hmm interesting.
