How Do you Carry your CCW permit?

The Idaho CWL is the same size and construction as, and looks much like, an Idaho driver's license. I carry the two things together. Idaho cops will want to see both if I'm ever pulled over, since their computer links them together. It's best to hand them both at the same time.

I had mine laminated to my chest so I can rip my shirt open like Superman and save the day!

seriously though, just fold it up and slide it behind your ID in your wallet. Mine's been fine like that for years.

Point of information. You have a Conceled Pistol Permit

Not if he got his in Washington State. Washington State issues Concealed Pistol Licenses (CPL).

In WA, It's okay to carry copy version?

From the RCW below, I would say that you must carry the actual license when you are carrying a concealed pistol, or when you have a loaded pistol anywhere in a vehicle. The statute below makes no mention of a copy. Is a copy of your driver's license legitimate to present when stopped for a traffic stop?

Oh, to answer the original question, mine is folded in half, laminated, and I carry mine in the large pockets of my wallet located behind the credit card slots. Yes, the license is too big to fit in a standard credit card/driver's license slot.

RCW 9.41.050
Carrying firearms.

(1)(a) Except in the person's place of abode or fixed place of business, a person shall not carry a pistol concealed on his or her person without a license to carry a concealed pistol.

(b) Every licensee shall have his or her concealed pistol license in his or her immediate possession at all times that he or she is required by this section to have a concealed pistol license and shall display the same upon demand to any police officer or to any other person when and if required by law to do so. Any violation of this subsection (1)(b) shall be a class 1 civil infraction under chapter 7.80 RCW and shall be punished accordingly pursuant to chapter 7.80 RCW and the infraction rules for courts of limited jurisdiction.

I'm in Florida and mine is the same size as my drivers license. I just stick it in my wallet.

here in va. our permit is drivers license size. If I were you I would neatly fold my permit and place it in a wallet type folder like they use for hunting licenses. Its compact enough to fit in your wallet and is protected from wallet wear.

Thanks for all good info's.

yes, i emailed Asked them if i can carry copy version, they said carry what they give me, so "no".

going to get laminated today!!

HAVE A GREAT X-MAS!!!!!!

I carry mine concealed in my wallet.......looks just like a DL

I feel bad for guys with the sheet of paper LOL

Missouri it's an endorsement on our DL. Or you can have it put on a non-DL ID card. And even having all the FBI and sheriffs office paper work and certs, you're not legal to carry until you have it on your DL or ID.

That's what it was like in Opelika, Alabama...

They finally figured out who I was an hour later... once they double and triple cross-checked my military ID, two state-issued driver's licenses, two concealed weapon licenses, matching military leave paperwork, fondled my handgun for a while, vehicle registration, proof of insurance, license plates and vin number.

Don't get caught napping in Alabama -- you could be mistaken for a terrorist.

Nice gun, i had a CZ40B for a while and really liked it. But couldnt carry it. Printed WAY bad with the dual stack

I've always folded my WA CCWs just above or below the line "The person described hereon is licensed to carry concealed pistols as..." and had Kinkos laminate it. Then I tuck it into one of the larger pockets of my wallet, but I'm a bifold wallet kind of guy.

My VA and WA permits came as pieces of paper. I laminated them (folded the WA one, as it's HUGE) and carry them in my wallet. Each of them is considerably larger than my DL or military ID. I decided to play around with my color copier, and made them about 75% sized, and cut the printouts, and those fit nicely in my VERY small wallet.
Try it out. Good to have a color copy of the WA and VA permits. (License in WA)
Also, my WA one says HANDGUNS and my VA one says WEAPON. (MY NYS one has a supplemental for all my handguns that says very clearly what gun it is, what caliber it is, what the serial number is, and a paragraph on the back that tells the story of how each and every one of my guns causes crime on a regular basis, and that I am a very bad baby-killer for even thinking about the handgun indicated on the front of this permit.)

I'm in WA. Mine is folded in half and laminated. Fits in my wallet, but I sure wish it was credit card sized.

BTW, I just sent the WA Department of Licensing a message to check whether they have any plans to reduce the dimensions of the CPL. I'll report back if I hear anything. You may want to inquire as well. The more they hear, the better.

Hi Kangspec.. I also have/had a WA CCW permit. It's kinda silly. I do like the Oregon one better, since it is the same size as an Oregon driver license. This is what I did with mine. I folded it in half and placed it in the inside compartment of my wallet where all my other sized papers and other junk go. Most wallets have these compartments. Its not a crime to fold the damn thing. Worked for me. WA CCW permit is the easiest CCW to get and the ugliest. But we are not having a beauty contest here.
