How long are you waiting for ordered guns?

Just curious what other people are experiencing these days...

I just ordered a Smith & Wesson 329PD for hiking/backpacking and can get no idea on the ETA. How long have you recently waited for a NON high-demand gun (read: AR or high-cap pistol) order?

I don't order things that aren't in stock. Same with ammo. Some of the stories I read here blow my mind trying to figure out why people put up with having cards charged for backordered stuff and waiting 2 weeks for some "overworked" online retailer to get off their ass and go put the order in a box. Why do people put up with that?

Well, I was referring to those who are not in the aforementioned situations. Of course you're waiting a long time for ARs.

The 329PD is a normally low-demand revolver with absolutely no ban-risk that is not currently in stock with any gun store near me, nor any online retailer I have found. I've heard that the distributors are out, and we're waiting for Smith to make more. Anyone on the inside at Smith that knows how to estimate production delays???

I'm not sure if it counts as "high demand", but I waited 8 weeks to get a Saiga-12. It was worth it though as I saved $100 over ordering one from someone with them in stock.

The truly ridiculous part is my friend, who waited 9 WEEKS for an 870 Express Combo. Still can't figure that one out. He just got it last week & hasn't shot it yet (I know; I don't get it either). I'm anxious to see if the delay may have been caused by Remington fixing their rough chamber problem.

The last gun I ordered only took a week, but it was a bolt action .22.

My main local gun shop has been waiting about 3 months for Glocks and pretty much cannot get any tactical style shotguns right now.

I don't order things that aren't in stock same here, I ask my dealer to let me know ASAP as soon as an item of interest to me arrives at his store (he usually carries most items that interest me anyway). I go down, check it out, and either I buy it or tell him it's not to my liking. Since he ordered it anyway to stock in his shop, he doesn't lose out if I don't buy it. If buying online, I always buy what's in stock, I never place an order on something that is out of stock.

waiting 2 months for a lower ar not too much of a bummer cuz i have other and in no big hurry...

The new Walther PK380 was supposed to be released this month. It's currently being reported by Walther America that it won't be available until July. And if the past is any indication, given the release of the PPS a couple of years back, that could mean that a handful of the new Walthers will trickle into the U.S. market sometime in late summer and the gun won't see wide release until maybe, just maybe, in time for Christmas.

Of course, I placed an order two months ago. Good luck with that.

I buy on sight what I can pickup and take home. The only stuff I order is ammo and things like that. Guns are just too important to be left to ordering.

I've been lucky that the very guns I've expected I would have to order, have been found waiting for me on a dealers' shelves, and they were at smoking good prices. One was an AR15.

I ordered a Marlin model 1895GS in 45-70. I received the rifle in 3 days. This gun shoulders nicely, is easily carried, and has the firepower to knock down ANY North American game animal, something an AR can't do! Too bad it only can hold 5 shots!!!! Guess I need my AR too!

I ordered a NIB Ruger SR9 from Gallery of Guns in Arizona at 10:00 am and it arrived the next day at 9:00 in Florida.......less than a day!

Colt 6400C since December

I ordered a 6400C since then I have seen other online vendors and even private sellers with nib selling, but the place I paid half as downpayment because they told me without me asking that they had some coming in. now 3months later no 6400C and now I settled and told them to get me a Smith and Wesson Revolver which I was told will be in tomorrow. I guess this will be my last purchase there.

GLOCK 19 and Walther PK/380

Purchased both in early February... no guns so far...
