How much did your concealed firearm permit cost?

In Arkansas, it'll cost about $250 by the time you pay for the class and the background check.
Most classes are $100 and it's just a hair shy of $150 to send everything off. That's for four years. When it's time to renew, it's significantly cheaper. Less than $100.

Idaho,
$65 for a 5 year license. $15 for the fingerprints. Renewal $45 for 5 more years, no additional print required on renewal.

Washington. Same as Idaho but fingerprints are required for the renewal in Spokane County if I remember correctly.

Former or current military no classes are required. No shooting requirement for either state, classroom time is adequate.

MAINE:
Course: $50
Passport ID (just picture): $15
Application: $35

Total: $100 *Plus $5 for miscelaneous expensives if you want to get technical. Ammo for course, postage, etc.

In Alaska, $50.00 for a renewal, which is only necessary if you want to carry in states Alaska has reciprocity with. If you just want to carry in Alaska, it costs you nothing, as there is no requirement to have a permit to carry concealed.

The original was $140 in Texas; the renewal, $70. Then the CLASS was $110. Multiply by two because my husband also carries, and our licenses come due within about 8 months of each other.

Which is a whole lot of money to exercise a right I shouldn't really have to pay for... :fire:

in connecticut, your town issues a temporary permit before you go to the state, so town prices my vary. i will pay or paid $110 for the class, around $8 for a passport photo at a drug store, $69.25 for fingerprinting and background check, $70 to the town, and once approved $70 to the state. all said and done, $327.25 for five years

Oklahoma

$80 class (8 hours...50 round fired to demonstrate safe gun skills ... they dont score targets... my class provider throws in passport picture as part of the fee)

$25 Finger print charge for the County SO

$200 State... that the 10 year cost... OSBI background check..5 years cost $100

Ohio

I paid:
$75 for the class
$24.99 for ammo
$67 for the license (includes background check)

most people pay somewhere around $150 for the class.

Do you give your free time any value? If so, the class is 12 hours. That equates to about $1,000,000 in my book.

total : $1,000,166.99 for me.

$50 for the permit
$80 class
$15 ammo (actually more after the class, ended up in an impromptu "match" with the instructor)

and then the fun starts...
$425 in holsters
and so forth

Massachusetts:
LTC-A is $100, good for 6 years so about $17 a year. Free after age 70.

First time applicants must complete a safety and familiarization course (no shooting requirement.) My town gives the course for free.

I was curious about AZ and wrote a friend who has ccw lic. in that state...

He said the open carry has messed it up for many in local restaurants, not allowing any weapons at all...

The 3 view rule (front, back and one side) no crime record (even misd) makes for a lack of carry by quite a few...Then you have Costco of course "NO GUNS" which is a biggie, considering they do 90% of their purchasing there...

He mentioned below...

Wife and I both have CCW permits. The Arizona CCW permit application and background check was $65 bucks per person. The classroom instruction, gun safety course, written legal and the performance exams were another $65 bucks per person. Another $30 bucks each guy for the instructor and finally $5.00 bucks each guy to the local police department for finger printing. Total per person was $165 bucks.

Madison County, Alabama: $10/year + $10 extra if you want a laminate photo license rather than a printed one. No finger prints or class required but they do require a passport-style photo.

First issue in Tulare County, CA:

Fee (Sheriff and state): $110
Class: $40

Good for two years.

Renewal:

Fee: $55
Class: $40

To paraphrase wuluf: Ability to carry anywhere in California: Priceless.

$50 for the permit in VA. I'm prior military so my DD214 is acceptable as proof of training.

Fees vary by county here in New York

In Orange County NY I paid:

Class - $25
Application, backround check etc.. $94.25
3 month wait

As of now permits are good for life.
Amendments (adding a firearm to your permit) are $5 each time you have your license amended.

$10.00 for 5 years.

No class, no prints, no shooting, just the background check.
Had my temporary permit within 5 days and my actual permit within 10.

I am in Florida and I just got mine. I paid $49 for the 4 hour class and $117 for the permit. The gun class supplied the ammo and the permit was submitted electronically. The picture and fingerprinting along with the paperwork was all done electronically at the Florida Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services, Division of Licensing. The state of Florida opened offices in some of the main cities after our new president took office and the concealed carry license craze started. I called and made an appointment which is about 2 weeks behind and having the paperwork, fingerprinting and photo done electronically took less than 30 minutes and I recieved my license in 10 days after appointment with out the $14.99 processing fee. I have friends who mailed theres in and it took 3 months to get in the mail due to a backlog in Talahasse. You may to check out and see if your state has something like this. Goodluck and great choice in protecting yourself!
