Carry Gun(s)

Depending on the weather or what my activities are for that day I carry either a full size 1911 in a Sparks IWB or a J frame Smith in my right pocket.:D

Don't Forget a High Quality Gun Belt

In addition to whatever carry gun you like along and quality holster don't forget to a high gun belt... I use Milt Spark belts but you may like other manufactures but the point remains... A high quality belt is as important as your other equipment.

There are 168 hours in a 7day week. Of that 168 hours, aprox 42 hours of it, I don't carry because I am asleep. But, of course, I have a firearm of some sort near me. And it isn't always a pistol. Another some 50 hours of the week, my work place requires me to be vunerable, I mean let the police protect me...

So, personally, I carry about 76 hours a week -- that is, abot 45% of the time. But I have a firearm available about 71% of the time.

During the Winter and most of the Spring and Fall, a 1911 is easy for me to conceal and I don't find it uncomfortable to carry all day (on weekends mainly for me). I'd carry my 5" XD45 tactical if I could find a good IWD holster for it.

I have warn a 1911 during the summer with a tshirt. But I am not confident of its being concealed proerply, so I mainly carry a Bera Thunder 380. However, I am considering a Glock 23 or a Sig Sauer 239-DAK for those circumstances when a 1911 is hard to conceal.

As an aside, though, remember that a gun is suppose to be comforting, not comfortable.

Summer: Keltec P3AT with Uncle Mikes in strong side front pocket, and KA-BAR TDI on weakside hip.

When wearing jacket: Kahr P40 with Paddle holster on strong side hip, and Spyderco folder in weakside front pocket.

One of the above two is carried all day/every day.
In New Mexico we're only allowed one concealled carry gun. No BUG's for us.

Have recently purchased SW99 AS .40 & Walther P99c AS 9MM that will see carry time as soon as range time/function tests prove them reliable. They too will be carried under jacket on strong side hip.

I carry a HK USP full size in 45 with to spare 12 round mags and a 340PD as a backup. Every now and then I will carry my 1911 Govt model if I absolutely need to conceal discretely. I travel to all 50 states on a regular bases and can carry in 30 of them, which means packing my guns and checking them through security constantly. The only time I do not carry is when I am not allowed by state law.

IMO, its not about the size of the gun, its the quality of the belt and the holster. A good rig can make a big heavy gun feel light enough that you forget its there, if this hasnt happened to you, I dont believe you are using the right equipment.

I have a Smith & Wesson 9mm model 910 that I carry in my car and leave it on the night stand. It goes everywhere, all the time. Then, I also have a Bersa 380 that I carry when I am out for the night socializing. In both, I use Remmington Golden Sabre HP's.

CCW Carry

I carry a H&K USPc .40 approx. 45% of the time b/c of day job.... If not probably 95%...As my login name explains... I don't make many friends at my second job...:D

I always carry a Kel-Tec P3AT as a general around-the-house gun. It's on me in a pocket holster all the time. Becomes my regular carry gun in super hot weather; otherwise it's a BUG.

Regular carry weapon, weather permitting, is a SA Micro Compact 3" .45 or a Beretta 9000S, both loaded with Cor-Bon DPX and 1 extra mag. I sometimes carry a Kel-Tec P-11 9mm or a .357 snubbie wheelgun, but usually it's the first two.

I carry IWB, OWB, smartcarry and with a concealment shirt. It all depends upon the weather and my that day's dress code.

When not at work I carry my G26. I'd say I carry it about 70% of the time I am out of the house...

DailyCarryonBeltMedium.jpg

Loads are Corbon DPX 125gr and Buffalo Bore 158gr for the 357mag and Speer Gold Dot 200gr +P and Corbon 185gr +P DPX for the 45acp

I carry nearly all the time, except at gun free places. My boss carries too, so carrying at work is OK. In the summer, I usually have khaki shorts and a polo, with a Taurus Millennium Pro in a Bianchi "The Professional" IWB at 3 oclock. In the fall and winter, I carry a Walther P99 in a Galco pancake OWB at 4 oclock, usually with jeans and along sleeve polo or a button down over it.

One of these three (although the Ruger is mainly a house gun). Glock 19, Kahr PM9, Ruger SP101, all 9x19. I carry about 80% of the time away from work.

Whenever I carry, it's a S&W Model 65. Loaded with Federal 158gr .357s, carried in a white polymer SMZ shoulder rig. Those folks that mention a good, sturdy gun belt? They're absolutely right. But if you carry in a shoulder rig, you don't need no steenkin' belt, which is nice once you get home. Kick off the shoes, keys, phone, belt, and you're still carrying.
