What do YOU carry, and exactly how often do you carry it?

Since I bought the P3AT, I haven't carried anything else. This thing is so small and light, it's the perfect gun for South Florida IMO. Don't have to worry about being able to penetrate through 3 shirts, long johns, and winter coats down here so I think a .380 is fine for my needs.
When I get my PT145 though, it will be a toss up on which I carry but I think it might be the PT145 since it will be getting colder soon.

Smith & Wesson 19-5, 2 1/2". With an extra 6 in a Safariland CompII. Can't carry at work, but when I'm not working I carry. Everyday. Period.

P-11 or when the weather is hot I pocket carry my P-32.

I carry most of the time. I carry a P-11 or when the weather is hot and light clothing is worn I’ll pocket carry my P-32.

Some will say the P-32 is a “mouse” gun and the P-11 is no match for the big bore guns…The funny thing is, both these guns are HIGHLY concealable and the interesting thing is better than 90% of the time my buddies who also have CCW permits almost never carry… Motto, both my P-11 AND my mouse gun (P-32) IS BETTER than no gun.

What I carry!

My normal carry weapon is a Kimber Raptor Pro.
When I have to go small, I carry a Colt Agent.
When I can find a holster for my new toy, I will carry a SigPro SPC 2009
as my primary.
I normally carry whenever I am dressed.

If I must limit myself to a smaller weapon, I carry my 640 in a Galco IWB holster or in a jacket pocket.

My preference, however, and whenever possible, is to carry my full size S&W 1911 in a Sparks Summer Special. or an OWB holster. Now that I have my new holster by Jim Speidel (the beltman), I'll be using that as my regular, OWB holster.

I carry whenever and wherever it is legal to do so. Unfortunately, that does limit me quite a bit here in NC. :banghead:

I carry a Kel-Tec 3AT in a Desantis Nemesis pocket holster all the time, work, home, life's errands. About 90% of the time, I carry a Kahr P9 in a Maverick IWB holster. Doing chores around the place, I carry a Ruger Mark III .22/45 4.5" barrel, fixed sights for ground squirrels and prairie dogs, also in a Maverick IWB. I like the Mark III because it's flatter than my Ruger Standards and shorter than my Mark II 5.5 inch target model. Traveling, a Glock 23 in a paddle holster with two extra magazines. I have an interior roof mount rifle rack in the Buick that holds a Winchester 94 .25-35 carbine. Easy access, but out of sight from the street. Pickup has the same rack, Marlin 36 .30-30.

I carry a Kel-Tec P-3AT with me at all times except at work. I keep it in my car when I'm gong out and clip it to my waistband when I go inside. In colder weather, I carry my Taurus 605 in a belt holster under my sweater or sweatshirt. I prefer the bigger gun but in some situations it is not practical to do so. Any gun is better than none--right???

i carry my 1911 milspec, in a milt sparks, summer special @ 4:30 I wear it everywhere except when I go to class, when I'm in the shower it is hanging on my pants belt on the hook conviently installed next to the shower door. At night it goes under my pillow.

I'll admit, I'm not reading all 4 pages of comments, but this is my take;

Comfort is relative. If you are thrilled to death with the notion of being able to carry, you will think that a full-size Desert Eagle in your waistband is the greatest thing in the world. (Don't laugh, I know a few people who, well, never mind.) If you have never had to carry anything on your person larger than a cell phone, you will think a sub-compact Glock is like a horrible tumor you are forced to live with.

I carry a full-size 1911. (Kimber Custom II.) There are a couple of reasons for this. I have been trained that the mission is first, comfort isn't even second. You carry the best weapon for the job. A full-size pistol has the best sight radius, increasing accuracy. Full-size pistols are usually heavier, and more controllable in combat fire. I for one would not want to sacrifice accuracy for a shorter frame that feels only a little lighter and easier in the waistband. You still know there's a gun there. Mission first.

The other thing that could just be my own stinginess, is I hate the idea that I have to run out and buy every new gun that I didn't know I needed until I read it in G&A. "Great carry gun!! World's best combat 1911! (Like we soldiers get to choose what pistol we carry to war in the first place,) All new world-class competion 1911!" I want to get the best all around pistol for everything. I don't want to jump up and re-tool all of my rigs every time 1911s change color. One good 1911, night sights, flat finish, .22 conversion kit, a few different holsters. If I'm using it for hunting, competing, plinking, or defending my life, I have the same setup for everything.

what do you carry

I carry 1911 ultra compact& high standard 22 mag derr. plus rem 1100 ext mag clipped to front of truck seat just in case

Glock 26 or a S&W 642 both loaded with Speer short barrel ammo. I carry at home and away from home. The 642 is fitted with LG-405 CTC Laser Grips and I pocket CC.. The G26 fits in a Don Hume 710 or J.I.T. belt holster..

Compact Glock 30 or 23 but mostly a full sized HK USP .40 if clothing allows. If not a Kel Tec p32 that fits in any pocket.:D

It varies on what I'm wearing and where I'm going. My usual carry is a SA GI 1911 HiCap. I also frequently carry a Taurus PT145 (flame suit on). On occasion, I also carry my wife's Bersa Thunder .380.

I do carry, all the time. Like American Express, I never leave home without it.

People who complain about the size, weight of a gun just don't desire to carry it, period.
The human body has a HUGE ability to tolerate without discomfort vast array of conditions. People get used to life without limbs, senses, the ability to speak, etc. If the spirit and desire are there, the body will compensate, adjust, become comfortable and get on with it.
IT IS A SIMPLE THING TO GET USED TO CARRYING A FULL SIZE WEAPON CONCEALED. If you have the desire and committment, get a few pieces of quality equipment and dress right, your body will soon forget about the gun. If you do not desire to have the gun and do not have the committment, you will be focused on the discomfort all the time and will never adjust to it. It has ZERO to do with the gun. It has EVERYTHING to do with committment.
Flame away. Regards to all.

If you are a real man, you will have your hip surgically modified to accept a full size.......
If you cannot accept the pain and discomfort of carrying a full size........get a sex change and carry it between your silicone twins.
I am only 3' tall and 67# but i can comfortably carry a full size..........
:neener:

My everyday is a P3-at in a pocket holster. When i can, i also wear an Sp101 iwb. But mostly is the kel-tec during the week, with the ruger riding in a cup holder or jacket pocket.
