I stumbled across this rifle for a decent price recently and went for it. Don't care much for the stock but I see there are some after-market offerings now. My LGS actually had some ammo in stock, I should know soon enough if this one is a good shooter. I've heard good things about Howa, this one is my first. Figured I'd share some joy here at THR :)

Nice. I'd have one, too, if the bolt weren't on the wrong side. Might get one "for" my five year old's first deer rifle anyway.

Nice i have a howa in 6.5 Creedmoor l, if i could find one at a decent price id probably get one in the grendel too

I like it. I even like the camo pattern.

Which part of the stock do you like less, the camo or the actual construction?

The stock looks are fine, it doesn't pass the $1 bill test as far as clearing the barrel goes. That said, I'm going to shoot it and see what's under the hood before I write it off.

Howa's are fine shooting rifles, great caliber as well, congratulations.

I'm not a fan of those stocks either. I would certainly have to change it out. But congrats on an interesting gun. Let us know how it shoots!

I just bought a new Howa 1500 mini but mine is .223. Your rifle looks to have a heavier and shorter barrel than mine. I've got about 300 rounds thru it already. As nearly as I can tell it's a 1 moa rifle. I say that because I can't shoot any better than that from a bench rest. Others have shot it and seem to be able to get everything inside the magic inch at 100 yrds. The only factory ammo that's been in the gun was to break it in. I don't own any other CF rifles (carbines don't count) so I don't make a living writing rifle reviews. I like the 2 stage trigger and the black stock. I put a 3x9 Leupold on it. It seems to be worth the $325 I paid for it. I think you're going to like it. :D
