You are making headway at work, congratulations.

Remember when asked, your ultimate goal is ALWAYS "World Peace".

mcosman, I fully understand. I worked for myself for about 20 years. I'll NEVER work for that SOB again! :D

I had a 6 month contract with a company that built military radios in SoCal. One day, about noonish, the Manager stepped into my office and said, "Grab your piece and head out to the back parking lot. XXX's ex is out there and causing some trouble." After I got over the shock that he knew I always locked my pistol in my desk upon arriving at work, I complied and defused a rather hot discussion in the parking lot. Afterwards, I was spoken to rather firmly by the manager about the weapons policy in that facility and that guns were NOT allowed on the property. He finished his little speech by saying, "Remember the official policy of this facility. I hope I never have to come to you for help, again."

When I was thinking about getting a hangun carry permit i went and spoke to my boss (company owner) about it and what the company polices were. We are a beverage distributor, I am the warehouse manager. I am alone in the warehouse after hours and lock up and leave after dark normally a few days a week. I was not sure what his answer would be but I was pleasantly suprised :)

He told me he had a carry permit and was pleased that I wanted to have one. Whats more he thought it was a fine idea if I wanted to be armed while leaving or entering the building. Sometimes my duties require me to assist on a delivery route or substitute drive the route and as we occassionally deliver to establishments who serve alcohol by the drink I cannot carry on the route. He proceeded to show me his in car security system for securing his firearm. I am permitted to stash my gun and ammo in the warehouse if need be to go on a route. Like I said we are small and no one is in the warehouse basically once the drivers leave for the day. And like most warehouses there are a gazillion hiding spots. No way would it ever be found. I also use a lock through the frame when I leave it unattended. I do use a cable lock to secure my weapon in my personal vehicle if I choose to do that too.

If I am working in the warehouse I can either wear the weapon concealed or open, or have it stashed for handy access, my preference.

I know I am blessed in this situation, and you should be proud for trying to make yours better! Great job dude!

M2 Carbine: Now that`s a picture!

That's my best Sergeant Schultz impersonation.:D
That is a sweet shooting MP40. Belongs to a mechanic friend. As I recall he had been shooting it and brought it to work to give it a good cleaning. He also had his reloading press set up in the hanger. I had my Dillon press set up in the company apartment I stayed in. I usually reloaded about a couple thousand rounds of pistol ammo while I was at work.

Wouldn't that just freak out some companies.:D

This is a good story.
For years I flew for a big oil company in Houston.
Every time I landed at the company building I'd stop by the offices of the people I knew well and say Hi.
One day I went by the office of a big tough gruff oil man who many were afraid of but who I got along good with when he worked offshore.
As I went by his office there was a meeting going on, so I just waved. The man yelled, "Hey come here I've got something to show you."
As I walked in he reached in his desk and threw a Colt 25 on the desk and said, "What do you think of that".
The office got very quiet.:D
I looked the nice little Colt over and said, "I'll give you $100".
He said something nasty.

I said, "What the heck you want with this little gun?"
He said, "Well the other night I had to stick it in a guy's ear to calm him down".

I went on my way laughing to myself at the looks on the faces of those people in the office.
Not only does the executive stop a meeting to BS with a pilot but the talk is about show and tell with a loaded gun.:D

Congratulations!! Very good work. I am always excited when someone gets more rights for people who carry weapons/tools. Now works your magic on Indiana and get switchblades and throwing knives legalised :p

if i could manage that, i'd already have done so in texas.

Idea: Make sure that company policy also includes informing police and pressing charges in event of violent behavior.

actually, that's probably a good idea, and i hadn't though to spell that out. thanks, bogie.

Excellent work sir!

I wish more companies would wise up. "For the safety of the employees we require at least 2 people per floor be armed at all times"

Your car is private property. You just cannot take it in the building. Same for schools.

Well done.

Focusing on the unlawful behavior, not upon the inanimate object is the key. Sounds as if the folks you are working with have a drop or two of common sense.

Good on them, and good on you.

One step at a time

The gun control crowd has learned that attempting to make major changes in guns laws bring a great deal of attention, so they've learned to chip away at the laws. By your small change you've set things up for further changes. Good Job
