Thanks for the feedback. The policy is not a new one....it's been in effect forever. I don't dispute their authority over their premises, however, I do have a problem with the "storage" issue, and particularly the way the message is worded.
"Weapons Prohibited on ***** Property: The State of Ohio soon will enact a law allowing citizens to obtain permits to carry concealed weapons. However, ***** Laboratories is committed to maintaining an environment that is safe and free of violence for our employees and visitors. "
To me, the second sentence infers that those people licenced by the State are likely to commit violence.
Ironically, many years ago, we did have an employee go nuts and shoot his supervisor...killing him. He was not a CCW holder of course...and neither was his victim... unfortunately. The policy didn't stop him LOL....imagine that!
I (and my family) have far too much to lose, and far too little to gain, to fight a battle over this. I'll continue to respect the law of the land .... as I always have.
