Ky been my home this time nearly 40 years. I escaped the commie state of OHIO the first time in early 1960's after being held prisoner 1 st 18 years of my life. Then military career and back to Ky . I find it was hard to breath when forced to return to Ohio because of my work and its thick air of oppression.
Surprised to hear that, although I wasn't around in the '60s to see what it was like. Ohio has gotten far better in the last 10 years. Actually, correct me if I've missed something but I'm pretty sure it's basically the same as Kentucky as far as state gun laws go. Now, as far as overall social acceptance, Kentucky may generally have us there.

.
I voted for Arizona... for a few reasons.

I like the climate. I could wear any of my 1911s (something we can't do here in urban portions of California) I'd like to live in Paulden, close to Gunsite, and then elsewhere have some acreage a bit higher in elevation to spend some time in cooler temps during peak summer.

Here in Indiana its not too bad.

Agree. Indiana recognizes not only every other U.S. permit ,but also every foreign country.
Go Hoosiers!

There are oddities. Our open carry laws are historically better than, say Texas. But in some areas the people go crazy over a picture of drawing of a stick that vaguely resembles a flintlock.

Red Wind... Remember the three questions?

Purdue graduate- Where do you want it built?
Notre Dame graduate - Is it moral to built it
IU graduate- Do you want fries with that?

Alright! :D You got me there! And then there is Bobby Knight! :uhoh: My only come back is NCAA Basketball titles:

IU 5
ND 0
Boilers 0

But that does go along with the fries! :) You are cool, Ma'am! ;)

Peace.

Is there magazine capacity limits in WA?

Missouri's gun laws are rather good. They're not quite at the Vermont, Alaska, Arizona level but they're better then quit a few states listed up there.

yeah Ohio has been ok with me. Back in the late 60's my old man and I would go for walks down the road to the river and I'd be strapped with his Colt .22lr, nobody ever said Boo to us. In the mid seventies I used to run around on my motorcycles with said .22 strapped, nothing ever happened then either but I guess we're less commie in the country ;)

Red Wind, Florida has no open carry?
Check out section (h) of our 790.25 statute: http://www.flsenate.gov/Laws/Statutes/2011/790.25
In my earlier post I mentioned legal open carry on the way to, during, and coming home from fishing, camping, and hunting.
By the way, even though I grew up in Florida, I've never heard of "Rock Harbor."
But then again, you've probably never heard of "Crackerville." :D

We'll help you out. Rock Harbor, Florida per Wiki.

Rock Harbor is an unincorporated community in Monroe County, Florida, United States. It is located in the upper Florida Keys on Key Largo on US 1 (the Overseas Highway) northeast of Thompson and southwest of Newport and the Census-designated place (CDP) of Key Largo.
Geography

It is located at 25.077°N 80.46°W.

Its elevation is 10 feet (3 m), making it relatively high for the Keys

No open carry other than on the way to the range or hunting automatically knocks it way down the list.

You got that right.Of little use OC wise, the vast majority of our time.

Choosing where to live is simply not based on what the gun laws are. But generally speaking I choose a location to live based on the climate and topogaphy primarily along with taxation and job opportunities. The gun issue is secondary, but still important. Urban vs Rural, or Big City vs Small City is more important to my selection.

Agree the poster who said the above.

Carry laws are very important, but also we must consider other factors that affect your personal and family life. I'd love to try living in AZ, AK, or VT, but never been in those states before that have Constitutional Carry. I think Arizona would be a good place to live, but sometimes if one grows to love his/her home state (in my case, FL) its hard to leave family and friends, lifestyle, beaches, etc.
