If you were a classy Hollywood mobster, what would you carry?

It may seem a bit pedestrian,,,
But I think I would have my 4" S&W Model 12 in a shoulder holster.

No, that's a great suggestion, I was thinking along the same lines: a nice, glossy, old-school wheel gun. And of what I actually have (as per the OP's criteria), one just like this is about as good as I'm going to come up with, as well. (again, that's if we're keeping in-line with the OP's criteria of what a "classy,Hollywood mobster" would carry.)

P.S. Kudos to the OP for the interesting thread topic.

Actually from my collection?

Brushed hard chrome Colt Commander .45. The hammer, sear, hammer pin, sear pin and grip screws are gold but only because they were coated with gold titanium nitride around 1995. TiN on those parts has been extremely durable.

Bad pic but...

Three .30 caliber. Browning Automatic Rifles
One 20 gauge “sawed-off” shotgun
One 10 gauge “sawed-off” shotgun
One .32 caliber Colt automatic pistol
One .380 caliber Colt automatic pistol
One Colt .45 caliber “Double Action” revolver
Seven M1911 .45 caliber automatic pistols
One-hundred rounds on machine gun clips
Three-thousands rounds of ammunition

When Bonnie and Clyde were killed on May 23, 1934 by Texas and Louisiana police officers, their Ford V8 was filled with the above. Not bad for taking on a picnic. :) I tend to believe Bonnie Parker also was carrying her 38 Special revolver. Bonnie & Clyde were known to practice regularly with their guns and they also maintained them.

Hollywood Mobster? Naw, I would prefer to be a real NY or Chicago mobster. :)

Webley Fosbery for the win.

Nickel .380acp. If it has to be period correct Colt 1908, new Beretta 85fs.
Nope! It does not have to be period correct. I'm talking old school, modern day, Mafia, Russian mob, Irish mob, what ever. All that's required is class, and no gang banger crap. The particular era and syndicate affiliation is unimportant. Anachronistic choices like my own is perfectly acceptable. I'm picturing 20's and 30's style dress, but with a modern gun, so my choice doesn't exactly fit any consistent idea.

So if you were a "respected criminal" which of the classy guns that you own would you carry concealed under your classy threads for defense?

I'm surprised I haven't seen a High Power yet.

Don't have it anymore, but the s&w model 29 classic 44mag. Full under barrel rib, non fluted cylinder, and beautiful s&w bluing. Put some rosewood grips on it in a patent leather shoulder rig with a s&w snub by 38 on the other side. Gotta love those wheel guns...

Old Fuff is right. I have been unfortunate enough to know, in a passing way, a couple of real "bosses" - small time, but "bosses" nonetheless. The last thing they wanted was to be caught carrying a gun.

They never harmed anyone, and I doubt they ever even gave direct orders to do so. They just knew that someone who wanted to be nice might do them a little favor.

Jim

P.S. I can't really think of any criminals less "classy" than Bonnie and Clyde, a pair of two-bit punks.

In my post above, I referred to the original Bonnie and Clyde. Their modern counterparts support gun bans, but are not any more classy.
