Right now? I'm in Washington DC in a Federal building surrounded by about 250-400 armed federal agents. Of course as a mere serf I'm not allowed to carry but at least I can expect a pretty reasonable response time. :neener:

I'm in DC right now. Other than my pithy tongue and sharp wit, I have a good sized general use Folding knife on me and two cell phones. My office is in a strip mall that my company has leased. We have solid front doors with keys that we have to use anytime we want to get inside. We also have an off-duty Police Officer monitoring our parking lot to ensure that nothing "walks off" like what happened to a co-worker of mine (4 wheels stolen from car in under 10 minutes). We have a lot of police activity near us, and we sometimes have several officers stopping by to say hello to their buddies working for us here.

When I am at the Navy Yard, we have armed guards and the Homeland Security GSA Cop HQ building co-located with the Navy security. Not that these guys are effective, but there is little to no crime on the Navy Yard.

At work I have a light, knife, OC and cell phone, with my Sig P229 secured in my car in the parking lot. I also have a roll of duct tape, and plenty of things that could be improvised in my cube. The devices I work with make good cover.

Not at work I have my Sig, 3 magazines, OC, knife and cell phone.

At home my wife and I both have bedside guns in GunVaults, and I have a Mossberg 590 with plenty of 00 buck within 7 feet of the bed, I also have two German Shepherds.

When you need a weapon you tend to REALLY need it so I try to keep them as close as I can.

Hopefully my employer will reconsider their CCW policy after recent events.

Two Mastiffs on their couch (they are way too big to share MY couch! :p )

If someone comes near the house, they are not pleased, and very demonstrative about it. I've had to put plexi-glass inside the windows to keep one from going through it. I have a S&W 340, an S&W M&P9 or an H&K UPSc9 within 10 feet of wherever I am at home. I figure the hounds will give me that much time before someone gets past them.

Immediate usage: fork, glass plate, lamp, scissors, letter opener, other random desk items.

If I'm given the ability to go 5 feet, I get to use a Yugo 24/47 Mauser.

In 15 feet, a XD 9 and a Yugo SKS are ready.

Little ones about so I have a couple of those cheap touch combination pistol safes here at the house one of which is in the file drawer of the desk I'm sitting at with a CZ SP01 and a S&W 629 in it. Figure I can get it open and have one of those in my hand in very few seconds.

We have some acreage and I have a beam sensor across the turn off into our driveway which is about 700 feet long. Sounds a beep and has a red light when it's tripped, but that's in the bedroom so not really useful, but was a cool project back in my gadget days.

Currently living in a country where firearms is banned. To make us defenseless against onslaught and terrorism attack. sigh...

In car,

RIGHT NOW - I have a Bond Arms Texas Defender in .450 Bond Super in my pocket. IIRC, "muzzle velocity of 2400 and energy of 1250 flbs" sure to ruin someone's complexion when I shoot them with it.

Here in West Texas, if I need something bigger, I'll head to the truck for my lever action or double barreled 12g.

As we speak,

I have a CRKT folder, a fixed blade Ka-Bar, mini baton, flashlight and cell phone on my person. There is a SIG in the drawer to my right. I'm upstairs and if comotion starts downstairs I can cross the hall directly (bedroom) and get either a 1911, 12ga or an AR. Gun safe is three feet from me, but locked and nothing has a mag in place.

If I'm posting from my home computer, then one .45 on hip, one loaded 12 gauge within two feet. One loaded AR within three feet.

Not really fair to you guys, but if I'm posting this from my gunstore computer, I have enough firepower that you would need to bring in mortars to dislodge me. :)

I'm in my office and on my credenza, two feet away sits my fanny pack with my PT145 in it. I put it on and zip my vest over it when I go out so it doesn't scream "ccw".

Nothing right now, since my employer is run by a bunch of Loony Leftists.

However, once I get to the car...1911-A1 (Springer GI-45)
