1911 with some 230gr Golden Sabers...on the other side of the bed is a Winchester Defender with 7 rounds of 00 buck. I have a second 1911 and a CZ SP-01 in a case beside by bed. In the night stand are loaded mags for both the 1911 and CZ. :)

At this computer desk, a Rossi 720 in .44 special with 180 grain hollow points. Other options are at other locations in the house, including an AK, a Bushmaster M4, a Dan Wesson .357, a Sig P220, an H&K USPC-45, a Maverick 18 in barrel pump with double ought, but you get the picture. All are loaded and are right to hand when I am in that area of the house.

M16A2 Service Rifle, with 4 magazines on a thigh rig and 4 HIGHLY MOTIVATED LCpl's and they are definately effective weapons if you ask me.

Only 4 magazines Aaryq both time I was in the box so far we had at least 6 mags and sometimes 12.

G19/carry gun always loaded stashed in arm's reach of the bed at night with a Streamlight nearby.

Early 1960's .38 Special K frame 3.5" (?) barrel with +P HP's in arm's reach of workspace.

Mossberg 590 loaded with 8 rounds of 00 Buck in bedroom closet; not chambered

None are visible unless you know where they are.

...and I'm NOT a gun nut nor crazy-paranoid survivalist - I just like these tools. I don't really expect a guy bursting in my door in the next 5 seconds.

whoops gotta go

PS - JAD - the Mossberg A1 is a sweet shotgun but if you have any financial constraints save the hassle and shipping charges that will put you close to or over $500 and just go pick up a regular 590 ($350 at any Dick's, often on sale for $320). The heavier barrel of the A1 is no joke although 18" > 20". No one ever really breaks the plastic trigger guard/safety and the standard 590 barrel is pretty strong and protected by a heat shield.

Right this second its my Rossi .38, not because its my primary weapon, but because of where its kept in my home. I don't typically wear a weapon in the house, but there are very few spots in my tiny domain that a firearm in not within a step or two. I do however usually get fully dressed for any outside activity and that means wearing a weapon. Only when I must venture to the courthouse or hospital do I leave the home unarmed.

At the comp desk I have a G26. Living room coffee table Kimber eclipse Custom II. Double Star MForgery in the kitchen. Mossburg 500 in the bed room. and 9 foot spear in the hall :)

2 notes

1. no kids in the house, no guest who are not gun people. If someone is bringing kids over the place gets "sanitized".

2. not really paranoid, I just love fighting tools. Not just guns but knives, swords (I have several all of which are functional), spears, axes, etc. If was made to fight with on a person to person level I have at least some interest in it. The reason weapons are all over the house, I love to fondle my babies. :)

Considering I just got out of bed an hour ago, and havent gotten dressed yet, I dont have any weapons "on" me. Other than a bunch of boogers like mentioned above. lol
But on the desk in front of me is a Benchmade Griptillian, Buck 110, Leatherman original, new CRKT Triumph NECK, S&W folder, and another small cheap folder, along with plenty of crap I could throw, magazines, books, quarters, pens, and some shotgun shells and a new camera.(dont really wanna throw that, but it is a Titanium one that will supposedly take more abuse)
XD9 is on the floor beside the bed almost in arms reach, Rem597 17HMR in arms reach(POS, not the best defense gun), 11-87 behind door loaded with 5 3" 00. Oh yeah, theres a Colt 1911 in here too.

Matt

I am sitting at my desk at work, so I have a full Nalogene bottle (2lbs of impact resistant Lexan), as well as my Benchmade 941...

I'll take my chances with the heavy blunt object.

At this moment, my duty SIG P229R DAK, on a shelf within arm's reach of the computer, next to a Strider Airwing blade. Plus, a Cinco Perros alarm system. When I get dressed and run some errands in a bit, I will switch to a pair of Ruger .357s, a 4" Speed Six and a snubby SP101.

A Bersa Thunder 9 (13+1) with a Fullsize mag (17+1) as a reload. A CRKT Dragon, Benchmade Vex and Spyderco Endura. Also a Gerber Ridge on the keychain.

on me right now... crkt folder, bright flashlight. within immediate touch a 22 revolver and a brick of ammo. in same room a 226 and 2k+ ammo, a over under 12 ga and 300 shells, a machete at the door and a collapsable baton.

As I type in my living room, I have a S&W Model 65 in a Galco holster. I have Glock 17 down the hall in the bedroom. Everything else is in the safe.

I have a 155# Akita/Great Dane to alert me (she is a light sleeper and very protective) and a CZ52 in arms reach....Which I always have on me.
