Is it time to boycott FFL scammers?

Now that I think about it, you're nonsensical posts have inspired me to raise my transfer fee to $30.

Baily,

Hey you know what Pal? I have a background and degree in business (UT) AND killing SOB's (Ft Benning/Iraqx2) both of which I graduated with flying colors. Don't you tell me what I have and do not have. How dare you sit in your living room and attempt to discredit me and then say people like me make you mad. Do yourself and every FFL dealer out there a favor and break your fingers.

Have a good one!

:)

what do you do for a living there javelin?

I work in Commercial Lending.

:)

Oh, I see. It's just fine to accuse some dealer's of illegal business practices with no proof. But when someone calls you out on your vague accusations and points out the fallacies of your ridiculous arguments you get your panties all twisted up.

So you have a degree and you served your country. Congratulations. What, exactly, does that mean here, in this discussion?

Boycott away, that's the power you have as a customer. On the other hand, the dealer can choose with whom and how he will do business.

Guess what, those dealers who are charging $50-100 for a transfer aren't doing it because they are trying cover certain expenses, or to price-gouge. They're doing it because they don't want to do transfers!

Now whether or not this is a good business choice-- I tend to think not. Get a customer in the store, he's likely to buy some ammo, maybe a sling or a gun case. Margins on accessories are way higher than margins on gun.

What some might misinterpret as posters "thinking [FFLs] should" charge $50-100 for a transfer, is probably more like acknowledging the right of an FFL to do business as he sees fit (even if we think it's a dumb business decision), and a resistance to accepting a charge of collusion without any compelling evidence presented.

Hey Baily you want to post where your shop is so we all know not to go in there? I can understand if you dont after showing your true colors as a gun dealer.

:)

I work in Commercial Lending.

What a riot! And you have the nerve to criticize the minor fees an FFL charges. Sorry...that's just the icing on the cake to this silly thread.

A guy that works in the banking industry calling ffl dealers "crooks and rip off artists" ...

Now I don't care who ya are thats funny...

I don't know? You were the one that brought up a personal attack on what I know and do not know? Or was that too long ago for you to remember?

Baley Guns wrote: With all due respect, you either have no business sense or you have no idea how low the margins are in the gun business. Either way, you don't know what you're talking about.

Are you really this inane or just putting on a fecade? I am beginning to wonder if you are even who you say you are.

:)

What I do for a living is what I do to make a living. And no I do not work for a bank. Commercial.... Lending... I'm an analyst. But thanks for the laugh. Jobs are tough in this economy for a vet. Sorry it isnt something cool like what you do tallpaul.

I'll stick up for the little guy.

Hey bailey- I was typin as you responded- I am glad I am not the only one to have cought that....

of course they can afford to spend resources on deals that don't come to fruition- they makes thousands on their small deals and millions on others....

I love all the fees those banks charge- I am sure every one of em is earned at the rate of 12.50 cent an hour for labor and .0001 interest in resources used in the transactions :D OMG-

thats funny! - talk about the pot callin the kettle black-

matter of fact the FFL dealers have put the whole country on the brink of recession- unlike the banking industry who help corporations and corporate raiders send jobs overseas and sell us to the highest biddders... hahahahahahahahahaha.... ya gotta be kiddin me....

sorry zak....

javelin I don't work in the gun dealers field... I am self employed in the service/construction industry...

Once again... I do not work for a bank? What part of that did you not understand? Are you seriously going to keep this up?

The worst GOUGING I ever remember was during the billy kunto AW ban = How the prices went through the roof -HK-91 mags $50.00 a pop and Pistol Hi cap mags $150 ==LAST ONES EVER BUY NOW! as soon as the ban was over --BY now 15$ 2 for 25$ CDN and R-Guns were the worst offenders-Lord How I hate them -and will do anything to spread the word -CHEEPER Than Dirt was another Major Offender !
Keep up the good work guys !
OH yea here in western NY we have dealers who will do the paperwork at gun shows for 20Bucks One guy was ten Bucks as we have to do transfers On all private sales -[ME I just take a walk to the bathroom and find a gun there ]
I love to leave NY but all the good places to go are soo expensive and FLAMING HOT!

I just sent my brother a revolver for his birthday coming up. I bought the gun, new, January 21 here, and sent out same day. I am in TN and he lives in AZ. After calling several FFLs on a list I got on the Internet, all that I called told me they no longer do transfers, I got one whose price is $40 or 10 percent of the cost of the gun, whichever is higher. Also was told I would have to pay AZ sales tax on the gun, I already paid 9 3/4 percent sales TN Tax. I really did have not much choice since others on the list no longer would transfer. My brother did pay the $40, since this was less the 10 percent of the handgun price but was not required to pay AZ sales tax fortunately.

javelin- of course analysts are not part of the industry that has caused the rape of our nation- nor are the costs of your salary and benefits passed on in the form of fees etc for those who have no choice but to pay them... I am also sure that every fee is legit and fully explained as to where the monies are dispersed and why it has to be that way- and if the borrower does not want to pay any of them I am sure they are just waived...

What are you talking about? I just got out of the Army a couple months ago. Are you seriously stating that our boys fighting for the US and me earning an honest living now as a civilian have doomed you and inconvenienced your lifestyle somehow?

You make me sick.
