Actually, I doubt the national leftist extremist so-called "news" media are turning up the heat at all. They're well aware the so-called "assault weapons" ban is going to expire in less than a month. There's naught to be done about it. It's over. Finished. Done. Kaput.

They're merely laying the foundations for a much more sweeping so-called "assault weapons" ban in January or Feburary, 2005, when, coincidentally, our elected misrepresentatives will no longer fear the voters.
