I've got a No.1 Mk.III SMLE and a Finnish M39 that can go head to head on most days depending on the loads. Just for fun...
Here's the SMLE. It's stamped 1918 and had a lot of love in it's day. Still a darn good shooter.
And here is a target...
The group in the green circle at the deer's head was done with handloads, off of a good sandbag rest at two hundred yards.
I was aiming for the heart/lung area.
