Well, I'm not intimidating but...

ANY firearm pointed at my squash would do it for me THANK YOU.
.22 to .500 they would all have the same effect.

Along with you better kill me, because if you don' t, it's my turn next.

Anything in the 44-45 range.

That hole looks mighty big.

Oh, except for the desert eagle, cuz in the movies the bad guys use them and they can't hit anything, right?:neener:

I'd say a large-bore revolver. You can actually see the bullets in the cylinder, and a ~.45" bore looks huge, especially if it has a deep 45-degree muzzle crown on it.

most intimidating:

whichever gun is being held with a proper two handed grip, with a proper stance, both eyes open, and finger on the trigger.

a gun held sideways with one hand is not nearly as intimidating to me.

just my theories anyway. i've never had a gun pointed at me. (knock on wood)

i dunno... i think a twitchy crackhead or some gangbanger are probably more likely to pull the trigger.

...and they'll miss.

Um, yeah. Ever look at where the sights are pointed when a gun is held homey-style? Hollywood isn't real, don't get training advice from it.

Most gunfights happen within 7 yards, and people STILL miss. -The reason is because everyone is moving during a gunfight, no one stops long enough to be intimidated by the other guy's gun.

sorry fellas,but.......

As much as I like handguns, even the largest one can't compete with racking an average 870 remington pump 12 ga. It even works in the dark:D

Ditto on the Remmington 870 12 ga. :D

That works any time, any where. The sound is unmistakable and there is no other sound like it. It will definitely get Everyone's attention. :D

i dont, the Army trained me just fine ;)

most muggings happen at way less of a distance. and many people surprised at gunpoint stand still.

im not going to argue with you. holding your pistol sideways or upside down or whatever homies do now is stupid, but up real close and personal even if you close your eyes you will probably hit something if you keep pulling the trigger, as long as you dont care what/who it is.

I'm really glad nobody's mentioned one of those stupid, garish, chrome- or gold-plated Desert Egos. Now if only Hollyweird would get a hint. The evil female character in the latest Charlie's Angels flick looked just plain stupid with those! :scrutiny:

Believe it or not, I'd almost say a small .22 or .25 would be as, if not more intimidating than a large gun as the chances of actually being shot may be greater. The reason is that the owner may be nervous, and more willing to shoot you while he knows he still has the upper hand before you have a chance to do something. Someone with a larger gun may feel more confident that intimidation alone will get him what he wants, and not feel as if he'll actually have to shoot. This may sound farfetched, but think about it for a minute before condemning it.

A Beretta 950 in 22 short or 25 auto pushed from behind to touch the skin just under the ear would do it for me, and I don't even have to see it. Either caliber will kill you with a shot there. Dead is dead.

Wait a minute there - give me a khukuri with a foot long blade, and I'll surpass the fecal factor of any gun. Most folks haven't been shot yet, but they've almost all been cut.

I'd have to say a 1911. But right behind it would be the SP101. For some reason, despite the size, those little snubbies always looked MEAN to me.

big guns

When i worked in the phone co. we had to go into the basement of one of the housing projects to fix a cable and walked in on a drug deal, saw our helmets with the bell on it and said come on in !!!! i have a 45 at home , but the barrel on his looked soooooo!!!!! much bigger, that was the fastest job we did in my 30yrs in the company!

1911, Taurus Raging Bull. Yeah, I know, S&W and Ruguer build better wheelguns, but that heavy barrel on the Raging Bull just looks mean as hell.
i doubt it from point blank range.
I saw a few guys shooting gangsta-style at the range one day, judging by thier 5 yard targets, I wouldnt worry. "ol' skool 1911"

Y'all seen this yet?
