most "intimidating" handgun?

you know, even though I'm not a revolver person, there is something EXTREMELY intimidating about a big-bore full sized revolver.

maybe we've all seen Dirty Harry too many times?

".760 Kohlibri. The most powerful handgun in the System. It could blow your head clean off. Now I know what you're thinking. Did he fire 13 shots, or only 12?. . . ."

Obscure SF-nal reference.

Gotta be a revolver.......

There has to be a certain "pucker" factor staring up at the business end of a revolver and being able to see a cylinder-full of shiny cratered hollow points and ........Gulp.......

Do you feel lucky punk? Well, do ya?! :D

A SIG P226 in the hands of a Navy SEAL or SAS

or

A 1911 in the hands of a Delta Op

or

Any handgun in the hands of a clueless jerk-off at the range.:uhoh:

Any handgun pointed at me is intimidating. The hope is not to be in a situation where the gun is pointed at you before you sense something isn't right about the situation.

Lawmen back in the day, and a few to this day, that carry/carried 1911 .45s, especially here in Texas and the Southwest, would polish the 230 grain FMJ round that they kept in the chamber, so the bad guy could see it. Increased the ferocity of an already ferocious weapon.

Just my .02,

Elkslayer....

Do you actually shoot those beasts?

One more picture I'd like to see ... of you and both those beasts in full recoil after you've pulled the triggers. :D

None of the above mentioned machines intimidate me. It's the "look" and the "eyes" of the person holding it.

A basket case, psycho, inept oaf or space cadet holding a rubber band ready to shoot a mangled paper clip at my head is more intimidating than a competent, together fellow pointing a hogleg at me. The former folks don't appear to always have their brain engaged while the latter do.

The potential accident scares me a lot more than anything else....

A 1911 with 6 in the mag and one in the pipe is very intimidating. At the range one idiot turned around to talk to me, finger on the trigger and sweeped my head with the muzzle, safety off. it stayed on my head for about a second and a half, was not fun at all.

Scott

M2HMGHB...

I think Blackhawk is right.

I'll bet that if you think about it, you will admit that it wasn't the 1911 with 6 in the mag and one in the pipe that you really found intimidating.... :scrutiny:

It was the :cuss: :cuss: idiot that was irresponsible enough to point it, loaded, at your head with his finger on the trigger. :fire: :banghead:

Perfessr...
The gun that shows you a perfectly shaped donut flash is one that was fired AT you.
Caliber, make, finish count not.
Rounds left may count if the first one only brushed by.

"most "intimidating" handgun?"

Whatever make and model happens to be pointed at me at the moment.

The gun that shows you a perfectly shaped donut flash is one that was fired AT you.

I disagree ....

No holes in those flashes... but, they're round ... like a silver dollor.

Been there, done that! :cuss: :fire: :banghead:

Of the pistols in my collection...I'd have to go with my HK USP Tactical .45...the thing is just big, it got a shark fin for a front sight, and the extra bit of barrel sticking out of the slide makes the bore look like a train tunnel. I've got 3 other .45s (Kimber and USGI 1911s, and a Sig 220) and none of their bores look as big.

After the USP, I'd have to say my Delta Elite Stainless...just something about stainless steel.
