What I hear you saying is it is possible to get away with being a slob when you shoot a Glock .45ACP but not with a 1911 in .45ACP. Maybe so, but what does it matter? A person who cares for his guns in a reasonably careful manner will see no difference. Not with a modern 1911 at least. I certainly have no reliability issues when cleaning my 9mm and .45ACP 1911s about every 300 rounds or so. I wouldn’t let any gun, Glock or otherwise, fester any longer than that. As for reliability tuning, give me a break! You have got to be joking. Both my 1911s have served me well right out of the box and continue to do so many thousands of rounds later.
