reply to Riy took too long to write
thread was closed but I want to post anyway maybe she is reading them.
note 1
Why do you call us sheep?
well, what else requires
shepards, sheepdogs and more or less constant supervision (there aught to be a law re....)
freedom, it's about personal responsibility, and self disipline.
actions or refusal to take action can have dire consequences
see
www.jpfo.org about 200 million casualities on various gov't sanctioned genocide in the 20th century alone.
Why do you assail the fact that some of us, like me, choose to live in San Francisco?
couldn't care less where you live. I don't willingly travel anywhere I'm civilly disarmed in the face of felonious violence (see note 1.)
Why does our concern with the environment and healthcare result in invective?
see note one people are responsible for their own healthcare
1. Hunters/Anglers spend $$ on environmental protection and habitat maintence again not the .gov's job nor is it chartered to do that
2. Uncle Sugar is not constutionally required or chartered to provide it.
last note:
So, the next time you feel like hurling wisdom at us, the next time your own brush feels heavy and wanting for a target, consider that there are a few of us who haven't yet decided which ring to throw our dogs in. And our dogs are big. And our dogs are hungry.
hmm would usually say good luck there, we are somewhat expecting such foolishness. Not looking forward to it but expecting it none the less.
You say you are a journalist, please read the constution, all of it, not just your favorite parts, it runs about 17 pages in 10 or 12 point font. or see it
online at
http://www.usconstitution.net/const.html
re read it
read the part where it lists congress's duties.
look at your notes.
we are a constutionaly chartered representative republic.
a .gov that would disparage one right probably would discount them all.
The note about the pen being mighter that the sword, seriously, look at what good all the ink in the world has done for Rhodesia and Burma (I used those as I can spell them)
My condolences on the passing of your father, mine is in latter stages of lukemia(sp?) even now I have to somewhat steel myself when talking to him, as in will this be the last time I hear from him.
Unlike your experience I have seen The Man literally jump into a mile wide river running at full flood to pull my stupid hide out. I hope that your own children have better models than you had. Apparently so, as you did say almost grown.
I had several good models to look at growing up and even coming late to 2a/civil rights I worked for some time making very sure that voting rights were respected. I was born down the road from vote fraud central in TX (Duval County) so I pretty much demand the franchise be respected and protected.
I'm always irked by 'liberals' who disconect when nattering about civil rights they 'like' (voting, early and often See Daly Chicago, 20th century) and disparage others 2A, grand jury, civil process, innocent til proven guilty etc).
You say you are a journalist I'd like to know if you have ever in a editoral meeting said, " the police have a suspect but let's see what the grand jury/trial have to say before smearing this individual"
I expect to only here crickets on that one
I've too often seen news rooms latch on to whom ever the suspect de jour is
see the Olympic bombing to refresh you memory, an innocent man hounded to what end?
just must sell more papers.
btw he probably saved a few lives warning the park police/security of the package he found, didn't do himself any good, did it?
go reread the constutition
respectfully submitted,
