Hi, all. I'm looking for information on 1895 Nagant revolvers manufactured by the Leningrad Optical-Mechanical Factory, Factory #349. My sources say that the GOMZ produced these revolvers in 1942 and 1943, and I'd be interested in knowing if any of them were sold as surplus over here.
These revolvers bear a unique marking resembling a ray of light bouncing through a prism, as this factory's main job was in producing scopes for rifles and sights for artillery-pieces.
Any information appreciated :)

I'm not an expert, but I paid some attention to these revolvers when they were widely available here several years ago. I've never seen that mark or heard any mention of it.

Actually GOMZ made lenses and cameras - its still around today making cameras and night vision scopes (renamed as LOMO). I've never seen a GOMZ marked Nagant revolver - they are rare as hens teeth. Somehow during the seige of Leningrad, they retooled to manufacture Nagant revolvers (not sure if they produced any other weapons). Would love to find out more about that story - how an optics firm retools in the midst of a major seige ...

I have 2 Nagant revolvers, one 1938 and the other 1944. The 1938 has a much nicer fit and finish than the 1944. Both shoot about the same as far as accuracy and trigger pull.
