if it were me I would buy a higher quality knife and not throw it out. I am not saying spend a fortune on it but the problem with cheaper knives is the locks can fail easy due to cheaper materials. If it were something I were using everyday and I wanted to make sure it performed I would spend more and just touch that edge up once a day at night after work.
Something by Benchmade , Kershaw or Spyderco will fit the bill.
