This one is open to any and EVERY 22 caliber (and 17 caliber) rimfire rifle including 22 Mag and 17HMR. This match is meant to be challenging and FUN. Hopefully it will get you out to the range and shooting your rifle.

You may enter with multiple rifles.

There is Two Optics Divisions:
->25 yards for iron sights and non-magnified optics and red dots
->50 yards for any Scope or Magnified sighting device.

The Target (Same for Both Divisions) Is Linked Below...

Edited by Art per request:

There are Three Rifle Classes:
->Unlimited/Target Rifles (highly modified rifles, rests, target sights, high magnification optics [in the appropriate division] may be used, all .17cal rifles should be classified as "Unlimited Target")
->Limited Class Target Rifles (defined as .22cal ONLY target rifles that are not complete custom target rifles, custom accessories, high magnification optics, and custom modifications are permitted)
->Sporting Rifles (Includes All Non-Target Class Autoloaders, Bolt Actions, Single Shots, Pumps, & Lever Rifles)

Both Target Classes can be shot from any position, Sporting Class is shot from any unsupported position. When you are satisfied you've done your best post, or PM me a photo of your target to me for scoring with the following information.

10 shots should be fired into the dart board target. Scoring will be the same as any darts game...50pts for center (double) bullseye, 25 for the green single bulls, all "pie slices" are scored as marked (using the numbers on the outside) with the EXCEPTION of the green and red rings. These are the double (outside ring) and triple (inside) ring and are worth double or triple the value noted for that section. All shots must lie a minimum of half-way between the higher value section or it will be demoted to the lower value (or unweighted section) of the target.

Target should be printed on standard 8.5x11" white paper with 1" margins. All submissions due by the last day of November 2009.

Shoot straight and more importantly...Have fun!

My apologies for being so slow with the new match, I am just getting over a bad case of the cold/allergies/virus, but am finally feeling good enough to stare at a computer screen for a couple hours today.

Again thank you to all the supporters of the October Match as well as this one.

:)

Hi, Mav. I can't get the dartboard to re-size to fit within one inch margins. I'm using Microsoft Office Picture Manager. It always seems to re-size back to the original size, which on my system, produces margins of about 3/8 inch. Anybody have any suggestions?

Okay, I used Word and your JPEG to create a 7.5" wide target centered in the page with the aspect ratio locked. Then Adobe to PDF the file. Hopefully it will attach...

ETA: Print with no scaling. Is this too big?

H&F, Thank you for the resizing and reformatting of the target. FWIW, I just chose 1" margins due to limitations of some printers, but 1/2" (7.5" target) should be plenty for any made within the last couple decades. ;)

I am glad that some one else supports the decision to add the 17cal (rimfire only) to the lineup. I have yet to start ordering parts for my 10/22 .17cal conversion (or even make a firm decision on what parts to go with), so I doubt it will make it out for this match...but next month it should be ready to go. :D

Thanks, H&F. So when you print your dartboard out, it's 7.5 inches? Mine is printing closer to 7 inches even. But if we can all agree that it should be 7.5 inches diameter, I'll just adjust it to the right size on a copier and call it good.

Mav - will all rimfire calibers be lumped together, or will there be separate categories for .17, .22, and 5 mm mag (if any of you have one). I've read that the .17's are in a class of their own when it come to superb accuracy.

Thanks

I haven't printed it off yet, but it is probably 7.5" with the small amount of white space on the edges of the image. I think you are good to go.

I have very limited experience with .17cal. Heck, I don't believe that I have even fired a .17Mach2. Do you think it will sweep the competition? If so, I think we may be better off creating a separate division for the 17s. Just let me know what you guys want to do.

:)

Okay, stupid question. Does unsupported position mean the use of a sling in prone or sitting is not legal? Or does it even allow using a bench but without bags? I'm going to try to shoot it tomorrow, but I don't want to cheat.
Thanks,
RT

Not a stupid question, basically the rifle should not rest upon anything other than you. A sling is permitted and encouraged, resting your arm on your knee while sitting is also allowed. Bags, bipods, and fenceposts are all means of support and will therefore be classified as Unlimited Target. Shoot up a storm. ;)

-HuntAndFish
-Ruger 10/22, stock except sights and trigger
-Tech-Sights (peep)
-CCI 40 gr std vel
-standing/sling/elbows on range bag
-25 yds
-indoors, pistol range

I'm gonna let Mav score these. :)

WOW, that is a great deal more difficult (to score) than I thought...but I'll give it a go. That was 10 shots...right?

First appears to be: 20(x2), 18(x2), 10, 3, DOUBLE BULLS(50), & BULLS(25x3)= 214

Second looks like: 20(x2), 5(x2), 18(x3), 4, 1, & BULLS(25)= 134

That is enough to put you in the lead (and runner up) for the Sporting class. ;)

Sent a PM to have the OP changed...should include a third rifle class shortly. Te third class is a "Limited Target Class" which excludes .17cal rifles and complete custom rigs (custom accessories, parts and modifications are permitted). Basically this exception only serves to exclude Olympic class target rifles.

Sound good?

:)

If there are still problems, PM me and I'll get to it later this evening, somewhere around dark-thirty.
