And a revolver that shoots 45 LC & .410ga wouldn't be good home defense Why?

My response was excessive, in hindsight I misread the sentence, and attributed the word "only" as applying to "only a Taurus Judge"...or something like that...but obviously you were saying "for home defense only - a Taurus Judge...".

Which is not unreasonable.

I personally couldn't choose such a firearm for defense, nor would I probably recommend one to anybody, but I wouldn't tell you that it's a bad choice, if you decide upon it.

btw...I think BG's know about the night stand thing. Do you happen to see that video about the BG who broke into this couple's home and was on their cam walking through their home and later, standing over their sleeping infant?

Is this something that might happen to you when you are asleep in your bed with the alarm on?

Is the intruder going to be standing over you in your bed (not doing anything to you but apparently just standing there?) before you are able to reach for your night stand?

If you are concerned about that, why not get one of the not-expensive quick release (mechanical mechanism) pistol safes and keep it within arms reach of your bed?

Big Shrek many here may not be old enough to appreciate your post. The Calico held 100 rounds and was used by the F B I as I recall using a laser red dot sight for mob control. They would put a red dot on a perps chest and then tell him that the red dot could be replaced by 100 rounds of 22 cartridges. Most surrendered rather quickly.

Just reread your post. Does the Calico come in 9 mm now? Impressive.

Yes, 9mm and a tactical version with rails...has 50-rd or 100-rd mags available.

They all sound good but access is the key and your proximity to the weapon.i have four punch safes( electric lock) with four different pistols. 357sp101 by the bed, mp40 shield by the tv, gp100 downstairs, and lcp ground level for carry access as well. With the grand kids around I need them secure but accessible . Make sure what you get you can get to when needed. Be safe.
