Poll: What do you CCW?

Carry pistol.

I've pretty much settled on the P3AT.
It's small, light, fires a reasonably effective round, and it did not set me back an arm and a leg!!!
Here in AZ, the bullet is not likely to have to go through heavy clothing.
Besides, if I feel I need something larger, I always have other members of my collection at my disposal!!

I currently pack a CZ 75B in .40 S&W although it's a bit heavy. However, I know that if I ever need it I have the pistol I am most proficient with.

I may be switching to a CZ 100B since it's much lighter and slightly smaller. That all depends on how reliable it turns out to be. It's still in my "trial" phase. :)

Springfield 1911 GI mil-spec .45 With 230 GRN speer Gold dot HP

In Northern MN i have a good excuse to were over shirts or jackets so conceiling is easier.

i carry your first choice. the USP-C in .40. i rarely have a need for any deeper cover piece than this. its pretty easy to conceal with a good holster and belt. i've been happy with it from day 1. i don't think i could have picked a better carry piece. i'm sure you'll love yours too.

Too much Film Noir has made me carry a full size Colt 1911 and a Smith 36. Every now and then I will carry a P99 or Makarov.

Kimber Custom .45 and Kel-tec P32. Also have been known to carry a Springfield XD-40. Springfield has a shorter barrel but the Kimber is a little thinner, guess I need a commander sized 1911 now.

CZ 75 IWB, Kel tec P-11 in the pocket. Next winter I'll probably start carrying my CZ 97 OWB

Full-size Vektor SP-2 (.40) with 180gr Federal JHPs and two reloads (31 rounds total).

Currently using a nice shoulder rig but will have to find an IWB alternative soon, what with the warmer weather and all. Unfortunately, I might have to make my own... :uhoh:

Normally a 4" Kimber. Sometimes a 5" Kimber or Colt. Occasionaly a Kahr PM9 or Taurus M85 as a BUG.

5" 1911, trade off between my Kimber and Colt.

Working on getting a Kimber Ultra CDP for those times when one of the above won't work too well.

Harsh language, a Sharpie pen and a 2.9" pocket knife.

Thank you Governor Doyle for your oh-so-principled stand on "public safety". :banghead:

Nine is SO fine for CCW!

After owning and loving a Kel-Tec P11 for a couple of years, I decided I needed something a touch smaller, but no less potent.
I finally decided to buy a Kahr MK9, on the way. The BUG is now a KT P3AT.

I've become VERY enthusiastic about Federal's 124gr +P EFMJ. 100% reliable expansion, feeds like an FMJ, packs a wallop.

I split my CCW duties between two guns. For coat pocket or certain pants pockets, I carry a S&W 642. For IWB carry, I carry a Kahr K-9. I find the K-9 actually more confortable to carry than any snubby if it is one a belt or IWB. The only draw back to the K-9 is the weight. If it were smaller and lighter, I could carry it in a pocket just like my 642. That is the reason I have been thinking about getting a Kahr PM9.

Your choice on the 638 is probably the best snubby out there. If I could trade my 642 for a 638, I would do it in a heartbeat. Here is how I rank the Airweight S&W snubbies for CCW:
1. 638
2. 642
3. 637

Ruger SP101 2" barrel with either 135 gr +p .38 or 158 gr .357 Gold Dot HPs
OR
Kahr PM9 with 124 gr +p Gold Dot HPs
