As I was looking for them, I opened this crate. I packed and evacuated them last summer due to wildfires.

Christmas in February!!!

I thought I had more .224 plonking projectiles, I knew the 2 Dillion powder drops were “somewhere.” But the RL19 was the only powder I was actively searching for. Adding 3 lbs to the 2 I had, pretty much is enough to load 7-08 and .280 for the rest of my life because of how often those guns get shot.

PS: the price on them was $21.95. Betting I bought them during the Obama scare. I don’t think I was using RL19 during the Clinton scare so it must have been around 2012-2014?

Point is, I’ve paid top dollar for components during huge price increases and found them to be great buys later.

You didn't pay too much, you merely paid early. And, you still got a great deal.

According to a few online inflation calculators, that $21.95 is $28-30 now. A great deal, as you say.

Back at the first of January, I was able to find a brick (1k) of Winchester SPP and a 4 lb. jug of Winchester WST powder. Guy at the counter stated no primers. Well, apparently someone set them down and forgot about them, I grabbed them.

Bottom line, $80/k for the primers and $140 for the powder. The limit was one of each per customer, per day. I wish that my wife or brother had been along. Almost triple for the primers but about a third increase for the powder. But, I haven't bought either in almost 30 years (divorce and life got in the way. Loooong story).

Recently, been seeing Winchester .308 ammo and 12 ga. shotshell on the shelf at the local Meijer store..
