Pregnant couple attacked by 5 girls on bus

I'm glad that the g/f and baby are okay. It doesn't look like the b/f is old enough to carry anyway, so I'd aside engaging with force he did a good job.

It was strange to see everyone else sit there watch a pregnant girl get hit in a 5 v 1 fight and act like it's business as usual. No matter how you slice it, 5 v 1 is nasty business. Then to hear the guy say "I'm not surprised, I was attacked on this route by kids...."

First off: I don't have a pregnant girlfriend. But if I did, and five girls stole her iPod and started beating her over it, all moral qualms about striking females would get thrown out the window.

Afterwards, I'd probably realize how I would surely be demonized for using force against underage minority females, but at the time I wouldn't give hoot. In a situation like this, the media is going to call you a racist, child abusive, woman beater. But if it's that or your unborn kid, let the minority woman underage beatings begin.
 
They attack my Girlfriend with child or not I would start post mauling those ladies in the Face as hard as I can and as Fast as I can. Act like a Lady and get treated like one act like a punk or animal and I WILL treat you like one. The Young man should have done the same thing I believe after the first 2 hit the floor out cold the other 3 would have woke up and saw the Light and hit the road.

I am not against hitting any female wanting to "man up" and hit me.
I would have punched anyone of them square on the chin with everything I had.
And would keep right on doing it until the physical attack on me or mine ceased.
Listen guys dont think for a minute a pack of five females would not be a physical force to reckon with.

Easyg just beat me to it. It wouldn't take that much to put the unborn child's life at risk. And really, there are many examples of fist fights being deadly. Sure, teenage girls might not seem like much of a threat when you picture it in your mind, but collectively they could do some damage. That said, I agree with the rest of your post. I would avoid drawing a gun until absolutely unavoidable considering we're talking about a crowded bus. But I would not hesitate to defend my pregnant wife from attack, no matter the sex of the attackers. If that means punching a teenage girl in the face...well, I didn't ask for the fight, you know?

+1. Sometimes it's a choice between bad and far, far worse.

Man, I used to ride a city bus daily, and I can tell you that no matter how much some of the people on it might act like animals, almost no one ever does anything. In fact, they just try not to make eye contact. Hell, I once almost got kicked off the bus for intervening when a drunk guy was trying to pick a race-related fight with another passenger who was minding his own business. I told the guy to shut the hell up, and I didn't do it quietly either. The bus driver jumped all over me for it too. All I could think was...yep, that's what you get these days when you try to do the right thing. That's what we've devolved to as a society. No one else said a damn word or would even look in the direction of the belligerent drunkard. Sad.
 
Hello friends and neighbors // That was disgusting, if someone wants to act like a animal, treat them like an animal. Any group that vicious in public would be worse in private.

In reality:
If with my ten year old niece and they took her I Phone my first job is to get her away from the animals and then report the theft. I guess it would be the same if I was with a pregnant girlfriend.

So I would move her to the front of the bus and get the attention of the bus driver.

In my dream senario or alone:
At the least I would have sneezed causing my arm to come up fast (elbow to the face perp #1) my head to come down fast (head butt to the face perp #2).

I'd probably loose balance and get tangled up with the other two, especially the one kicking my head. I'd definately make sure the kickers face came into contact with something. Everyone wants to be as pretty as possible.
The fifth animal would have had to come to me as she was out of arms reach.

I would be apologizing for my clumsiness the whole time.

No guns or knives needed. If it had been two or three adult 200 lb men or women definately gun and knife.
Just be glad none of those animals pulled a razor, knife or gun... its probably just a week, month, or year before they do.

The fifth animal seemed to be training the others. IIRC she got on the metro asking "didn't you say you were going to get me an I Phone" them mostly stayed back to watch the show. When the man and woman tried to move in that direction she attacked, blocking them for further pickpocketing.

They were working as a team, creating confusion about the theft and attacking to reposition the target. ( the one with the yellow bag immediately took the victims seat so anyone just noticing the action would be giving confusing testimony )
This is/will be a dangerous pack of animals. If you live in the area it would be very wise to remember their faces.
 
In that demographic, there are seldom clear innocents and clear perpetrators, IME. Everything is a retaliation for something else. Motivations very often include actions by third and fourth parties. e.g. A beats up/robs B because C, who is B's friend/relative took something belonging to D who is part of A's circle.

At the risk of sounding like a broken record here, lives were at stake.

Getting kicked in the head is most certainly life threatening.
 
The "real" story certainly puts things in a different light.

Assuming my wife, my unborn child and I were in a similar situation (I wouldn't steal someone's iPod), it would not have ended well for the young, female attackers. Personally, I don't think I would have pulled a gun but the second time that foot came at my head it would have gone back rotated 180 degrees - either the ankle or the knee would have given away. Anyone who chose to continue to assault us after that would have met a similar fate. Those individuals went from being girls to being animals as soon as they chose to attack like animals.
 
Any that would use unlawful force against my wife would be met with lawful force in return, up to and including deadly force if warranted.

Females do NOT get a pass because they are female.

5 to 1 odds is a disparity of force that could cause serious bodily harm or death, regardless of gender, and I would not hesitate to use a firearm to defend my wife and I, regardless of location, or proximity to others. I will not sacrifice my family, or myself, for strangers, and ESPECIALLY for strangers that would sit on their rear end watching me tangle with a crowd of criminals.

A few years back, here in Nashville, there were three events where a man was beaten to death by two to four attackers. A fight can quickly turn deadly...as already said. I'm 60 years old. I don't intend to fight.if I can change my attackers mind. :evil:

I try to keep myself in low risk areas.

Emphasis, mine. I think one of the most cowardly things a man can do is hit a woman. That presupposes, of course, the woman is doing nothing or just running her mouth. If one is pounding on me, she'll get her nose broke just like any man. The young man showed remarkable restraint.
 
Being up in years, and having sustained a list of physical limitations through the years, May I just suggest that one should practice their boxing? Not fifteen rounds and all that entails but rather, just work on a good jab, with either hand. Set up a bag or pad and hit it regularly, from all angles, work on accuracy with the first shot (Sound familiar to shooters?) the speed will come with practice. Aim for the center of the face. any hit counts but a surprise broken nose will generally drop an unsuspecting assailant. :what:
When forced into an altercation, success with that little move will give you time to take whatever action is necessary to properly defend yourself from that point on. :D
 
Pretty sad to see what happened. I was raised to defend my loved ones at all costs especially if its my other half and especially if she's pregnant. Anything or anyone that attacks my otherhalf or children will come face to face with pure demonic rage regardless of sex, color or race. In a situation like that I would instantly flip a switch and all hell would break loose until the threat has stopped or I am incapacitated. I will walk away from problems because I do not like dealing with problems but in this case I would not be able be calm and relaxed whatsover. In this world sometimes you will have no choice but to go to the dark side and become an animal to defend those who you love.
 
5 vs 1 w/no clear shot. Pepper spray can take me out in this enclosed space. I'm going to hit hard to STOP it know. I lack stamina and would probably for my knife to end this quick.
 
This is where pepper spray would have been great. For those of you who think it's not manly the cops use it! There are situations where a gun is not practical and this was one of them.
 
If you use pepper spray on a bus, how do you make sure you don't get zapped with it yourself in such an enclosed space.

I'm going to dissent here. Not because I think deadly force wasn't justified. Mostly because it was 5-1. If these devil-spawned girls were really that nasty, that's a lousy fight in an enclosed space. I CAN carry a gun on the bus where I live, and I do on the rare occasions I ride it, but I don't see myself shooting under most circumstances, it's tough to get a clear background on a moving bus. I would try to get between my wife and the threat, and force them to face me one at a time in the aisle.

There is also the question of how serious the threat was. A mugger can make a threat of violence, but that's not necessarily the same thing as being in fear for your life. If I wasn't feeling the surge........come on guys, it's just an ipod. Stare them down, call the police when you can, wait for them to get off.
