I’ve noticed a rekindled interest in the 32 ACP cartridge because of the renewed interest in pocket pistols. That plus the new rounds for it, in particular the Lehigh Xtreme Cavitator 32 ACP +P round.

Lucky Gunner has been putting out episodes of his program about the 32s in general and some about the 32 ACP in particular.

This too is of interest from Sootch00:

Even though it’s from a few years back.

People are beginning to realize (re-realize ?) that 32ACP is a very respectable caliber. (again?)

I begrudgingly carried a pocket 380 (LCP/P3AT) when I was limited by work clothes.
To me 380 was marginal, not a caliber I'd carry by choice.
Given that I thought 380 marginal, I can't contemplate thinking, "If I have to defend my life today, I'd prefer a 32 acp in hand"

Always the same basic message. Don't ya have any other gun interests besides your preference of concealed carry?

That Xtreme Cavitator from Lehigh/Underwood adds new credibility to the 32 ACP as a self defense round.

Meh, 32ACP was a fairly good round before all that came along. BTW, you can get those rounds to feed thru your .32 mag and feed ramp dependably, ?

I’ve just become interested in pocket pistols because I live in FL and the attire worn down here makes CC difficult. So I do not now own a 32 ACP pistol but became interested after watching Luck Gunner’s episodes on pocket pistols.

When I looked into the 32 ACP I of course watched different reviews of 32 ACP guns and ammo. None of the other 32 ACP ammo performed nearly as well as the Underwood/Lehigh did.

I like the .32 acp. I carry guns chambered for .32 acp.

Previously on this forum, different styles and calibers of carry guns were celebrated for defensive use, like the old "642 Club".

Now, any discussion of a platform or caliber besides 9mm and the >10 rd capacity polystrikers that chamber it is met with questioning ridicule.

I carried a P3AT 380 for quite a few years.
But, I switched to a P32 I found a deal on just before the plandemic...I like that it carries an extra round, and that the slide locks back after the last round.
...And, I think the 32acp can do the pocket pistol job.
I have mine loaded with hot S&B "milspec" FMJ right now.

I guess I would have to ask what can 32 ACP do that 380 ACP can't? Are they more concealable? Is there more magazine capacity? Is there a larger selection of SD bullets that meet FBI standard 12" penetration? I'm not seeing the 32 ACP as having any advantages here. 380 ACP is about as small as I wish to go for SD. I have a 32 revolver so I'm not a total caliber snob.

"Always the same basic message" - Yea, my opinions / preferences; which is also what other people post.
I'm on here to talk concealed carry; however, I'll post pics of my dogs if applicable. ;)
I'm guessing you disagree with my post and would prefer a sounding board of agreement about virtue of 32 acp. (Thats not happening from me)

Anyone who ridicules the 32 ACP as a carry gun is a buffoon. The last video I sent was from a 32 ACP septic and he changed his mind after looking at the performance of the Lehigh/Underwood ammo.

I have several .32 acp pistols but would not carry one for protection any more than I would carry a .22 or .25 acp. My Diamondback DB9 is actually lighter and smaller than some of my pre-war .32s.

It shoots a 9mm and has a decent trigger. Confidence is important in a life and death situation and I doubt that I could be confident using any of my .32 acp pistols.

Granted, anything is better than nothing but I'd rather have a more powerful cartridge in a platform that was light and easily put into action. A .45 acp would be my preference but the only compact .45 I have is both heavy and has a terrible trigger.

Have you looked at the ballistic gel tests using the Xtreme Cavitator? A Beretta Tomcat loaded with 8+1 of those would certainly give me some confidence.

As far as pocket pistols go, that’s gotta be one of the better options!

Careful: are you letting yourself be impressed by the temporary cavity?
